Alphonse Elric, Skilled Alchemist

Stats are not all the great but a pretty decent startup and his LV2, LV3 abilities makes up for anything else he lacks. All that matters is his alchemy and 3 is not bad at all. I assume you will have some equipments in your deck and supportive mother helps you pick up one more card, letting you pick up 3x per turn. Nothing much else to say since he is the only ally most people would use while using Al. Al in the flesh is better than this card, but a 5 command is not something i can stand.

Alphonse Elric, "Skilled Alchemist"

6 Command Elric Faction

Spirit - Hero Level 1

1 Strength 2 Wits 3 Alchemy

Main Wits X: Reveal the top X cards of your deck. Choose one attachment card

revealed, and add it to your hand. Place the rest on the bottom of your deck.

Stat wise: Well, standard low stats for a high command character.

Effect wise: I gotta say, unless you fill your deck with attachments, this effect isn't all that great. Unless you get lucky. And chances are, you'll draw a card you need (like Quick Draw or an event or ally you need) along with your attachment. Hello attachment, goodbye really good card. At the very least, you don't have to discard the cards that aren't attachments. And

if you're running an Elric deck, no starting team is complete without "Trisha Elric, Supportive Mother". Her "Leader gains +1 Wits and +1 Alchemy"

is a big help. So, you've got 3 cards you can look through off the bat.
Sure, you can equip something like "Lab Gear" and get 5 cards instead, but you're looking at a better deal if you just start off with "Winry Rockbell, Shopaholic". She has pretty much the same effect, and she always let's you look at the top 4 cards of your deck.

However, if you run an attachment heavy deck, this is the Alphonse is for you. Combined with "Winry Rockbell, Shopaholic" and "Trisha Elric, Supportive Mother", they create a team that let's you look through 7 cards per turn to find your attachments. And that's not too shabby.

Last word: Overall, unless you need that extra command, start out with "Alphonse Elric, In the Flesh". He lets you automatically get an "Antique Armor" and equip it (not to mention his stats are a little better than "Alphonse Elric, Skilled Alchemist"). "Policeman, Citizen of Linter" will help you get past the low command quickly and on to your level 2 Alphonse.

Alphonse Elric, "Skilled Alchemist" gets a 2 out of 5 from me.
