Edward Elric, Supporting Presence:

Because I've been choosing a lot of the cards to review lately (yes, you can blame me), we seem to have run out of most of the playable quick alchemy characters. Ed is good- don't get me wrong, but he's not really within the same thing Quick Alchemy usually occupies. That said, Supporting Prescence has uses in a few constructed decks.

Rebel hero decks, and Zealot decks both make great use of Ed, although his quick isn't very prominant. Ed is the second best zealot one drop (number one being Bodyguard), but he's still playable and can be quite a beatstick.

In limited, play him. He gets bigger, has quick alchemy, and has alchemy at all, making him a limited staple.

Last card for this week is Edward Elric, Supporting Presence. 5 cost=Good, +1 to each attribute while Rose in play=Good in Zealot decks, Quick Alchemy of 2=Good for those first locations. Having to play a Zealot deck=bad, exists only for his stats=bad.

Supporting Presence is not a bad card per se, it's just very limited in it's functionality. In regular Elric decks he fails as a beatstick as Researcher is also a first turn drop with 5 alchemy off the bat. In Zealot Rose decks he's ok, but figuring you'll be fighting on either Strength of Alchemy 5 and 4 respectively won't last in the long run even with his Quick of 2. And his 5 cost means it's a two EE to put At the Gate on him, Quick Alchemy's best friend.

There are better Ed's out there with similiar costs and attributes, but can provide much more tech depending on your meta. (Researcher for heavy targetting meta, Strategist for a heavy cancel meta, etc.)

Constructed: 2/5-I'm not that big of a fan of allies who exist only for their attributes. Especially when it's not that huge of a beatstick.
Sealed: 3/5-Better especially if you have Rose for a leader.
