mob decks need to run really fast because they gas out so quick that you run out of things to do really really fast and when a mob deck hits it's peak in performance you need to win there and now because if you don't the other deck will catch up and beat you

for example if you are using scar level 3 and you are using it's ability to attack something during the main in a battle of alchemy you select my envy one thousand faces as a target (strengh-9 wits-9 alchemy-0) i play taunt if you dont have any thing to stop it or any way to buff scar he will die a horrible and painful death

that could mark the apex of your deck after that you could lose just because of one card.

in order to win you would need either a good wits buff or a cancel card

for wits a good pumping card is diligent it gives target character plus one wits for each card in your opponents hand

some good cancel cards are deeds, not words ,bazaar, pressure, cage, daring gambit, nina tucker, and edward elric researcher.

looking at the duel from the other point of view a good thing to cancel in a mob deck is angry mob's ability it can be canceled with a simple pressure or a deeds, not words

another good mob's ability to cancel is nurse clair it can also be canceled with a pressure or a deeds, not words

in my homunculus deck that made it to worlds i run 3 pressure and 3 deeds, not words even though homunculus isn't a very big canceler i still run them because they can cancel the basic things that need to be canceled like policeman or angry mob or any thing that you don't like
