Harry Potter - Characters Cedric Diggory Deceased
Wizard Cedric Diggory was the handsome Hufflepuff rival to Harry, first seen in "Prisoner of Azkaban." For a big and heavy person, Cedric is a good if not excellent seeker. However, like any typical Hufflepuff, Cedric is noble, and requests a rematch after Hufflepuff defeats Gryffindor in Quiddich, but about every Gryffindor Quiddach team member "admitted" that Hufflepuff won fair and square, despite the fact that the rainy weather hindered them more than Hufflepuff and the dementors forced Harry to fall off his broom. Nobility proves to be a bit of a weakness, as Cedric allows Harry to touch the Triwizard Cup, allowing Voldemort to get the missing ingredient for a new body. Cedric's father, Amos, works at the Ministry of Magic under the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and likes to boast about Cedric. In "Goblet of Fire" Cedric was one of the champions of the Triwizard Tournament and tied with Harry in it. When Cedric and Harry touched the Triwizard Cup, both were sent to Voldemort's hideout, and when Peter Pettigrew appeared, Harry's scar started to hurt very hard and Pettigrew, right on Voldemort's order, struck Cedric with the Avada Kedavra curse, forcing him to bite the dust. His deceased body was later brought back to Hogwarts by Harry. |
