Harry is the main character in the book, and by far the most popular. He has a owl called Hedwig which is a Snowy Owl.

He has a lot of friends at Hogwart's, his two best friend's are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who are both in Gryffindor also.

His parents, Lilly and James, were both killed by the evil wizard Voldemort. Voldemort then attempted to murder Harry, but his spell, Avada Kedavra, bounced off Harry and hit Voldemort seriously injuring himself. Voldemort then fled and Harry became famous for defeating The Dark Lord.

Harry, aswell as 7 other players, plays for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. His position is seeker which is one of the most important positions on the field. A seeker has to catch a golden ball called "The Golden Snitch" before the other team's seeker does. Once it's caught, the match ends and the seeker's team gets rewarded 150 points.
