So in the ever-growing team of S.H.I.E.L.D. we now have a REV that has flight.  The Sentinel Troopers are a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives who wear armor fashioned after the larger Sentinels killing bots (who they have stopped making by the way, so get yours now).  The suits allow them to fly and carry another figure, which makes them a handy addition to the S.H.I.E.L.D. heroclix team.

The Sentinel Trooper comes in at 20, 25, and 28 points respectively.  The starting Speed over each version goes up one starting with 6 on the Rookie up to 8 on the Veteran.  Combined with Flight a move of 6 is a little short with the Rookie, but the Experienced and Veteran will work well as a taxi.

The Rookie has a starting Attack of 7 with a Range of 4, while the Experienced and Veteran both have 8 with a Range of 6.  With all having a starting Damage of 2 they will do ok damage, but you might be better off using the S.H.I.E.L.D. team ability to pump up the damage of whomever you are carrying.

Their starting Defense of 13 for the Rookie and 14 for the Experienced and Veteran is below average, but I’ve noticed a lot of S.H.I.E.L.D. figures have low damage.  The nice thing is that they all start with Toughness, which I consider a requisite for a Flyer. That way your enemy can’t use Energy Explosion to hit both of your figures (unless they Perplex it of course.)

Overall I love how the Ultimate expansion has really added flexibility to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team and its nice to have some Flyers that can be used. I think the Rookie is a little weak, but good for pumping up the Damage of whomever he carries. The Experienced and Veteran are good solid taxis for the price.   Combined with the Mandriod Armors the combination of Flyers and Telekinesis will make my S.H.I.E.L.D. team a lot more mobile.

The Limited Edition Sentinel Captain is 1 point more then the Veteran, but his Speed, Defense, and Attack are all lower.  He still has Toughness, but the only gain is two clicks of Leadership.  Leadership is nice with a large S.H.I.E.L.D. force, but Nick Fury already has it.  Overall I’m just not really impressed with the Captain.

Overall Score: (Out of 10.  Score of: 4 = horrible, 5 = below average, 6 = slightly above average, 7 = great, 8 = outstanding)

Rookie Sentinel Trooper – 6.0

Experienced Sentinel Trooper   - 6.5

Veteran Sentinel Trooper – 6.75

Limited Edition Sentinel Captain – 5.5
