Today we are going to be looking at the Atlas/Goliath from the Fantastic Forces Set.

Yeah…I don’t know who he is?  But the big A on his chest has comic potential all over it.

Cost and Abilities:

Rookie = 94 Points, 8 clicks of life, 0 range , Masters of Evil team ability

Experienced = 107 Points, 9 clicks of life, 0 range, Avengers Team Ability

Veteran = 125 Points, 9 clicks of life, 0 range, Avengers Team Ability

Which is best?  This is where I decide which to review.  Definitely not the rookie, he doesn’t have charge.  There is a 20 point difference between the experienced and the veteran.  For the 20 points you get more impervious and a higher attack.  I’m going to go with the veteran.

Movement: 10 with charge.  He has charge for three clicks.  His movement always stays high.

Attack:  10,9,9,8,8,7,7,6,6.  He has quake for 2 clicks and then charge.

Defense: 16 with impervious for 2 clicks.  Then invulnerability and toughness

Damage: 4,4,4,3,3,3,3,2,2.  This is his strong point.

Sculpt:  He looks like he was in a bad 80’s cartoon about space fighters.

Team Ability:  Avengers.  Which used to be bad until……see next section.

Feats:  Avengers and thunderbolt!  For 5 points Atlas can be any team you want.  Ultimate or Mystics spring to mind.

Battle Field Condition  Darkness will help even out the range issue for the man A man.  Poor team work is good for all the big figures, since they already can’t be carried.

How to Beat Him:  It’s is too easy.  Anybody with a range, or outwit or psychic blast.

How to Play Him:  Grr….don’t.

Overview:  No range, can’t be carried and everyone can target him….hmmm.  This does not strike me as good.  You can’t carry him or telekinesis him so realistically for this to work he has to roll him impervious, because he will be attacking second.  His high damage is nice, so if you can get him into a one on one, he has a good shot of winning.

Overall Score:

2/5 300 Points

2./5 400 Points

2/5 500 Points
