Powers and analysis:
1: Phasing/Teleport, Psychic Blast, Impervious, Outwit
2: Psychic Blast, Impervious, Outwit
3: Impervious, Outwit
4: Invulnerability, Outwit
5-6: Invulnerability, Probability Control
7: Phasing/Teleport, Psychic Blast, Invulnerability, Close Combat Expert
8: Phasing/Teleport, Psychic Blast, Toughness, Close Combat Expert
9-10: Phasing/Teleport, Regeneration

Parallax just looks worse and worse with every new figure in the 250 point range. For 3 points less, Thanos gains superior range and stats, plus a team ability that makes him most effective as the one-man-force he's likely to be in the standard 300-point game. Power Cosmic's immunity to Outwit and pushing for free are vital. And look at that attack value! Full disclosure moment: I never -- NEVER -- expected to ever see another 13 attack value on an 11-click figure in Heroclix. Not under the current designer. But it seems that Supernova will boast at least two figures with this astronomical stat. It actually makes me a bit leery of another era of power creep in the game. But if any Marvel character deserves it, it's Thanos.

Phasing alleviates his non-flier status and Regeneration makes medics less necessary. And with an attack that BOTTOMS OUT at a staggering 10, he truly has the stuff to be a one-man army.

Feats:
DAMAGE SHIELD is viable to make hitting him a risk.
PROTECTED can help against either a massive alpha-strike or, I recommend, a late-dial attempt to finish him off when he lands on his last few clicks.
AUTOMATIC REGENERATION is also key to help him just in case he gets that hurt up.

Comic accurate?
Considering he's destroyed the Marvel Universe once or twice with just a little help, I'd say this is about as good as he could be in standard clix form.

In sum:
Pretty much one of the best of the super-high-cost standard figs and the prize Unique of Supernova. I want two; one to keep and one to trade/sell for massive cash. :)

Rating:
4.5/5 Loses a half-point for only having 10 clicks -- his only real shortcoming.

Dario So, today we check one of Marvel’s biggest baddies: Thanos. It was about time for us to get another version of him. Again we get him in the form of a Unique (like it ought to be), but this one is a bit more pricey than the first one: 267 points. Holy mama! that puts him behind of just a handful:
Ganthet, Ares, Parallax… and I think that’s it (although I might be missing someone). So, is he worth that much? let’s see… oh right! He’s not a flyer, he has an archenemy (Silver Surfer), he has the Power Cosmic TA, he has a 10 range 1 target and he’s 10 clicks of Health.

Stats:

Speed: 9, 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7. Phasing/Teleport on his 1st, and last 3 clicks.

Attack: 13, 12, 12, 12, 12, 11, 11, 10, 10, 10. Psychic Blast on his 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th click, and that’s it.

Defense: 18, 17, 17, 18, 17, 17, 17, 16, 16, 15. First 3 clicks have Impervious, then Invulnerability follows for 4 clicks, then comes 1 of Toughness and the last 2 are Regenration.

Damage: 4, 4, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 3, 4, 5. Outwit the first 4 clicks, then follow
2 of Probability Control, then 2 of CCE and that’s it.

Analysis:
His Speed… well, I guess you all now what I’m gonna say, but I’ll say it anyway :P : If the clix is above 200 points you need either Running Shot or HSS. Neither of them is a big drawback; and it’s bigger the closer it is from 300. Phasing at the end is good… but it doesn’t help much this guy’s case.

His Attack: It’s right what it has to be. It’s pretty good, but don’t make mistakes, it’s not GODLY. He will most likely hit every time, but it’s just what a guy on his weight class should be able to do; besides KC Flash and KC GL need a 7 to be hit, and that is if he gets the first shot, and that’s unlikely… so those will be a problem. Psychic Blast at the beginning with Outwit is great; getting it back later on the dial for a couple of clicks is pretty nice too.

His Defense isn’t what I’d like. It’s not as messed as his Speed, but for this guy’s piont value I’d want slightly higher values and 1 extra click of Impervious. The Regeneration at the end is not half bad.

His Damage is not as high as I’d expect it to be… I mean, the values when he has Outwit are a bit low… Also, CCE on this guy is pretty much like Vision’s case (but worse, of course, as Thanos is much more expensive)

Conclusion: Not much else to say about this guy. His TA is Awesome, his attack is great even if it doesn’t have a lot of powers there, but his damage would need to be slightly better, and his defense should definitely be better, considering that his Speed sucks. He needs a TKer or 2 to move him around, and also somebody to take care of Stealth figures, and he can’t have that on a 300 points match. On a 500 point match he can be quite good, but still he’s not easy to play

Ranking: 3/5. The reasons? read above :)

Thanos, like me, is back with a vengeance. This new Thanos trades in a few mid-dial attack points for much better targets. He gives up flight and a target for better (read: existent) damage powers. He trades in a click of life for much better defense. So far seems kind of even doesn't it? Well its not. The psychic blast and outwith make him actually able to consistently hurt a big opponent, blasting for 4 damage, unlike the old one who could only ping an invulnerable target for 1. The late dial regeneration can actually make him last, you might even want to put automatic regeneration on him. The phasing is nice enough, but not entirely necessary. This new Thanos is a nice figure, but overall a disappointment to those of us who have memories of him pimp slapping Galactus into next week. Also, with no move and attack powers, he is pretty overcosted, but not being a flier you can at least taxi him.
