Any card that combos with Seismic Assault has to be worth something right?
This card is one that has to have its parity broken.  There are no cards
that break this parity right now.  Its not terribly good, but quite fun.  A
2 in both formats.

This has been sort of a pet card to me ever since it came out in Alliances.  I remember the "Storm" deck back in T2 at the time that was not all THAT horrible - Storm Cauldron, Stormbind, Storm Seeker, which all comboed decently with each other.  Since then, haven't found a great use.  Maybe there is one.  I never cease to try to find a way to break this little thing.  Just hard to break anything that costs 5.
In limited, I don't see how it's good.

First there was Fastbond. People played it, and it was good. Then Gaea's
Touch, and it was not as good.

Then this came out (originally in Alliances). People found that the drawback
of bouncing a land to your hand wasn't worth the ability to play one extra
land per turn. So this just sits around gathering dust.

You are a Magic player. You go to the local card shop. You buy a pack of cards. You open your cards. Storm Cauldron is the rare. You throw the pack away. You quit playing because you only get rares that suck when you buy backs.

Storm Cauldron has a lot of potential as a weird combo artifact.  I've seen it played, and it actually worked quite well in a mono red deck with Seismic Assult.  It also, if dropped fast enough, can mess up certain decks.  A 2 for now, but potentially a 4 when played correctly.

In limited, it's too hokey to win you games.  A 1.2 here, the .2 because it can't be all bad if there's a Serpent Warrior in the Same pack.

One would think there should be some great combo with
this card, but I can't find one.  At five mana, its
too late for mana acceleration to be necessary.  So
what we have is a card that does a couple things that
are entirely unnecessary.
