in block to kill Blastoderms. Alternately,
you seldom want to give up 3 life to them for
+4/+4, though I could see it in some decks.
Not a big fan of this one with Giant Growth still
Though there are many
pump spells that can be put to good use,
Invigorate has a nice little advantage of surprise
as it can be used even if you have no mana open
with it's alternative cc (casting cost) of an
opponent gaining 3 life (Note: In multi-player
games, this can be any of your opponents, not
necessarily the "victim" of your pumped creature).
Not great in constructed, as there are better
spells, but useful in draft and sealed decks.
An interesting twist
on the Giant Growth family. The "drawback" of
giving your opponent 3 life is frequently not
one, as it can save a creature or force a bad
trade. In constructed (other than Masques
block), there really wasn't a home for this,
In limited, however,
this card is really good. It slices, it dices,
and it messes with your opponent's math. Play it
if you've got it.
You know, I didn't see this get played. I wouldn't
play it though...I mean it has an alternate cc.
gain 3 life for +4/+4. You'll only deal 1. I'd
Bounty of the Hunt.
Limited- just a tad bit better
Invigorate - This card
is a matter of preference. I believe that pump is
best used to prevent premature death and not for
aggression. As such, Invigorate is a best pick.
Not as useful as Giant Growth this card is much
better in the protective roll.
Constructed - Very
useful and one of the top 2 or 3 pump cards for
Green. Really shines in low land builds - 3.50
Limited - Creature
pump is really nice and the ability to cast it for
free is also strong - 3.75
PEZ (Peasant) -
Again one of the best cards for the format in
Green. Especially good with Sligh around - 3.75
