Wednesday - Moorish Cavalry

For the rest of the week, we get to set the wayback machine to cards that were printed in the early days of Magic. This is a 3/3 trampler for 4, which doesn't seem too amazing to me, as these days white has much better cards to play for less mana in type 1. For 4 mana, I'd want to play a bigger creature, or a creature that flies. This just doesn't seem very good to me.

(I can't rate the cards in limited the rest of the week, since I've never played them in limited and they aren't going to be in a relevant limited format. Sorry.)

Moorish Cavalry is another decent creature. 3/3 and Trample for 3 is pretty solid. Too bad this isn't the ability that WW needs to break out.

Constructed - Solid but not amazing - 2.45

Limited - A decent creature and Trample makes it a threat - 2.60

PEZ - At 3 mana the card better be a game breaker, still solid - 2.45

I prefer the banding elephants to these guys, but since wizards disowned the banding ability, i guess that's asking too much. yay for less splashable war elephants.

What would me picking cards for the COTD's week be if I didn't throw some extremely random cards in! ; )

In constructed this card is T1 legal only, so its completely useless. Although this card is interesting in the way its a big efficient trampler. The trample really takes this card out of flavor. Remember to call "cavalry" the next time you need a random mistform creature type!

In limited (like that would ever happen...) this guy looks solid for his cost. I'd play him, maybe even a first pick, since alot of arabian nights cards weren't that amazing for limited play.

Limited: 3.5

First of, it's a solid 3/3 Trample creature, something you don't see that often in white. But is that enough reason to pay 2WW for it? I wouldn't say so. Preferably, use Lancers en-kor over this one. If I would be in need of Trample in Mono-white, 4 mana isn't horrible, but it isn't good either (Look at Brawn), if it would have a more respectable type like soldier or cleric it would be worth looking at.
