Caller of the Claw was barely noticed when Legions came out, hidden behind the hoopla about Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Phage the Unplayable... er... Untouchable.  Slowly, but surely, Caller has risen to its rightful place among the, "Hey, that's a really good card" stock. Surprisingly to some, it's an Elf (though the tokens he creates are bears). His huge advantage is that he comes down instant speed. Infest getting your Elves down? Fine, replace them all with 2/2 bears. Need to stop an onslaught from your opponent's army? Block all out and then Wham! Surprise!

It's as good in limited as it is in constructed.

Constructed: 4.5
Limited: 4.5

The best card in Legions, period. Unfortunately, this doesn't say much, since the set is so weak. Replaces your crew after a Wrath or Mutilate. If I played a green deck, I'd probably have a couple at least in the sideboard, if not main deck.

(Hint for all you elf players out there - this guy is an elf. That can be important for when you get your Wirewood Herald Mutilated.)

In limited, other than Nantuko Husk tricks, this won't do much.

Constructed: 4.25
Limited: 2.5

Caller of the Claw
just an instant speed gray ogre would be ok, but this guy has an AMAZING
ability, no matter what the situation (when one of your dudes dies in
combat, you get 2 2/2's for 3 mana),  and he's very important with akroma's
vengeance, starstorm, bane of the living, mutilate, and wrath of god
floating around.  plus he's an elf.
constructed 3.9
limited 3.3

Caller of the Claw is the great re-equalizer. In most matches the opponent uses a mass effect to wipe your stuff from the board and this guy comes and practically puts it all back for you. This doesn’t even mention the tricks you can use him for on your own. A very strong card.

Constructed – This is where opponents will really nail you with mass removal effects so this is where the Caller is strongest – 4.65

Limited – Still solid for his cost and his ability manage the creature balance – 4.55

> Creatures you can play as instants are always a good surprise for your opponents.  Any ability that lets you recover from a Wrath of God (your or your opponents) or just being on the wrong end of the combat step is great in my book.
