Inflame is an interesting card that can perhaps do
a little more twist of pain when you need it to.
Just a little more oomph for the asking when
needed. The cost is reasonable for the ability.
Its drawback, of course, is that you might not be
able to hit what you want to hit. Or your opponent
may have a response (like shocking one of your own
creatures), and then you really could have a
bummer situation. I don't see it being popular in
constructed at all, but may be a consideration in
This isn't a
horrible card. To be able to do 2 damage to
something that has already been done damage can
be useful, in the right situations. This is not
targeted, so you can block a Blastoderm with a 3
power creature and then play this to kill the
Blastoderm. If it has regenerated, it still has
been dealt damage this turn, so if they use
their last mana to regenerate a Troll Ascetic
when you block it, you can play this to kill the
Troll. However, if the damage is prevented, it
was never dealt. So if they use a Samite Healer
to protect another creature, negating the
damage, this won't damage the creature.
I've never seen an
opportunity to use this card, but I'm sure our
other reviewers may have. I personally don't
like it, but it's not useless.
I can see this card in a R/U "Tim" deck. I had a
deck like that. Ping a few
for one, then play that to finish them off. Can
also work off a Tremor or
another pinger. Seems to me would kill Goblins
pretty easily. A so-so card.
Still alittle too conditional. The cost is good
Inflame is inherently a card that thrives on card
disadvantage. It is a dead card unless you have
burn. It only does 2 damage so it's not the kind
of card that you use to stack on itself to kill a
fattie. In Limited it may finish off a few
creatures that have 1 or 2 toughness' worth of
damage left on them but that's about it.
Mercadian Limited: 1
This is a pretty
decent card. Makes chump blocking all the more
effective. Makes your opponent think twice
about blocking with his army of 3/3's after you
have attacked with your army of 1/1's. The
price is right as well. A situational pyroclasm.
