The new card type!  Artifact - Equipment.  It doesn't actually "attach" to a creature, so when you off it's benefactor, it can just "equip" another target creature you own (only as a sorcery, though). For more info on Equipment, see Judge Bill's articles over the past week or two.

Bonesplitter is quick and so becomes a heavy consideration in at least limited decks.  The rumor is that there will be a huge number of Artifacts in Mirrodin, and we are seeing hints of the importance of playing artifacts in this set. So this may even become a factor in constructed. We won't know for sure until we have the full spoiler.

Today, we start off with a very basic piece of Equipment. Not too thrilling, as the power bonus is quite boring. However, the fact that it stays out when the creature that it was equipped to dies is a big step up from an enchantment. I don't think this will see much play in constructed, as it's not that exciting of an effect. However, it can be quite good in limited, as when you attach it to your flier, you can hit for 2 more every turn. And if that flier happens to die, just slap it on another creature.

It's not a spirit link, and it's not unholy strength,  but it is cheap and
it can make small guys dangerous.
constructed 2.8
limited 3.2

I'm really liking the new equipment. This is one of the ones I like the most
since it is so cheap, being only 1 to cast and 1 to equip. I'm not sure if
the equipment will be used a lot in tournament since you have to pay for
them twice for them to do something. But they are killer in casual games.
This is a fun one since they permanently get 2 more power. Thats what some
people look for, MORE POWER.

Casual Rating: 3.4
