Wednesday - City of Ass

I imagined this card would be a very lame card, playing on the word "ass" in more than one way. But this is actually very good. Take Grand Coliseum, and add half a mana, with no pain. This is actually a very good card, and can help you cast cards like Little Girl or many of the others that require one half mana.

Outside of Unhinged, though, this isn't that good unless you have 2 out. If you do, it's a free mana.

The only really Unhinged thing about this card is the funny name. Once you get past the coming-into-play-tapped problem, there's really nothing wrong with this card. However, I don't like to play lands that come into play tapped, so I would advise not playing this card. Reviewing this card on the Unhinged scale, it gets a 3.5 for its overall coolness.

While mana acceleration seems like it should be a good thing, more often than not the half a mana will do nothing but cause you mana burn. In multiples, however, this card can be some handy mana acceleration, and it looks funny. I suggest playing it.

City of Ass - Wednesday

There was so much "ass" in this set that I guess we had to include some this week as well. I find this card amusing since it is a direct play on the City of Brass card. The effects are even similar. However, I'm not sure why it comes into play tapped. This is unhinged, things should be stronger and wackier. This is definitely a strong card in casual play or unhinged limited play.

City of Ass --

I don't have any problem with taking half a point of mana-burn on occasion, especially since the mana produced by City of Ass doesn't come at as expensive of a price. Getting two Cities into play can't be horrible either. I would suggest running four of these in any Unhinged deck that plays two or more colors.

In limited, this card should always make the cut. Why wouldn't you want a little consistency in a very inconsistent environment?
