Well, this card is definitely more useful in a
limited environment than in a constructed one.
Even with that being said, it's not a top
priority to draft one of these up. If you are
going to be into three colors you can wait and
take one of these with a mid-pick. Somewhere in
the range of 8-10 is good. In constructed there
are simply too many other good chooses to help
smooth your mana.
I really like this card in Rav limited play. It
serves as accelleration, and at the same time
can ping your opponent by adding mana to their
mana pool at inappropriate times. Sometimes it
comes back to bite you in the butt, but it's
usually worth the risk until they get something
on the board to drain the mana through.
I don't see it being played in Classic (Type 2),
but I suppose it could get used in casual
environments.
