I'm not digging this card. The only way it
seems good is in a combo deck in which you
have some way to get lots of mana and recast
it. But then again, there's likely
something else that you can do with that
mana. It's a neat creature, but I don't
think it will find it's way into many
decks. We didn't play it much the last
couple of times it was legal. I don't
expect to see a lot of people playing it
now.
I'm sitting on the fence with regards on how to
rate this card. On one hand, it does have an
extremely good ability; on the other, it is a
bit more than I would like to pay for it. I
understand that three mana for a 2/2 that
bounced would be a bit too much, but it feels
like Blinking Spirit needs something extra to be
worth making the cut. However, I wouldn't be the
least bit surprised if this card made the cut
into a high-quality deck at some point.
I can definitely see this card making an impact
in limited. If you get to a point in the game in
which you are losing to an opponent's big
beater, Blinking Spirit could be used as a
stalling device until you stabilize.
An interesting
little 2/2 that hasn't seen the light of day
for a while. One of the things that Blinking
Spirit does best is block and run, then
return to block again another day. It has
enough omph with 2 power to maybe take
something down while doing so. It can also
attack, then if blocked, damage on the stack
and run. Blinking Spirit is for all
practical purposes impossible to kill since
you can return it in response for nothing.
In limited, a
very worthy card for a white build. In
casual, interesting to consider, though
maybe a bit unfocused for most decks.
