I find this one to be interesting. Because of
it's Channel ability, you might as well play
this card if you were even considering Hurricane
as an option for your deck. The other neat thing
is that this guy is a 5/5 creature for five mana.
There's no drawback either (beyond the fact that
he is a legend). Flying creature definitely need
to beware of this guy.
The only real problem I see is that he is a bit
mana intensive all around. This will probably
hold the card back a bit. It should still see
SOME play though.
Arashi is probably one of the better green
creatures produced by this block, but I'm still
not quite convinced it can fill a slot within
someone's deck. I would likely place this card
as more of a metagame call over being a
mainstay, as its ability can be useless in some
match-ups. That said, Arashi is still pretty
massive at 5/5, and with no drawback, it can't
hurt to drop this creature against almost any
deck.
In limited, as with yesterday's card, Arashi is
an absolute must. Not only will it take care of
any flying creatures your opponent pulls out
against you, but it is a cost-effective creature
that could be difficult to deal with.
While fairly expensive for constructed, Arashi
is a house in limited play. First, even in its
basic form, it's a 5/5 for 5, which is never
bad. Now add to that its ability to tap and deal
damage to a flyer, and this thing becomes very
strong. Now add it's Channel ability, to wipe
out an entire Meloku army, and it is downright
evil. If you are going green, you take it...if
you are playing heavy flyers you "D" it up
(defensively draft it).
