Enduring Ideal
Epic spells sound kind of interesting. The idea of having a powerful spell effect that recurs each turn is interesting. Unfortunately, the cost is heavy, both in mana and the restriction of not being able to play any more spells for the rest of the game. No matter what you get from an Epic spell, there is a good chance you could easily get caught needing to cast one of the cards in your hand. Enduring Ideal sounds less interesting to me than several of the other Epic spells in Saviors of Kamigawa. This card is pure constructed, and pure combo. I don't have a combo deck in mind for this card, but I know it has a lot of enchantments in it, and I know it takes FOREVER to set up.

Enduring Ideal

This card is very intriguing. I think that many players are going to find the epic spells interesting. Granted, you are taking a gamble when you play them. I think Enduring Ideal is costed properly and to make use of it, you will likely have to build a deck around it. There are some interesting ideas and strategies already floating around regarding this card, so it will be fun to see what comes of it.

Enduring Ideal

I'm going to stick this card in the same category as yesterday: Lame. Again, I am sure there are ways to utilize this card to make it slightly better than it is at face value, but why would you really want to limit yourself to no spells for the rest of the game for *this* ability? I'm not going to rate Enduring Ideal at the absolute minimum, if only because I know that if I do, there will be some amazing combo deck within two weeks that makes me look like a complete moron. So I'm going to give it a low rating to reflect the fact that it is a horrific card unless you build a deck around it.

In limited, when you can't pick and choose from a wide variety of cards to maximize the usefulness of Enduring Ideal, it is absolutely dreadful. Don't play it. Please.

Whoa there.... so Wizards has come up with a way to make Enchantments "Legendary"!  Epic is the new mechanic, and hmm... what a price to pay, yet what benefits it could reap.  Is it worth the cost - the inability to play spells the rest of the game?  Yeesh...time will tell, I suppose.  But I'm going to guess that Epic is going to be a hard sell.  Enduring Ideal has the problem of its high casting cost to overcome.  Then you are forever limited to its Epic ability.  In Enduring Ideal's case, all your opponent has to do is sideboard mass enchantment removal, and he wrecks your world, and most likely then beats the ever-living crap outta you.  NOT a good thing.  So, Ideal may be good against your schoolyard buddies for a few games when you can surprise them.  But rest assured, when they catch on, the next day they will come back with the sideboard necessary to put an end to your Ideal world.
