Conjurer's Ban

Not too crazy about this card. It COULD be that I just don't understand it, this was certainly true with Meddling Mage, a card Conjurer's Ban has SOME things in common with. Of course, Meddling Mage is a 2/2 creature, capable of bringing the beats even if its ability to shut down the play of a named card isn't relevant at the time. More importantly, Meddling Mage keeps you from playing a named card FOREVER (okay, not forever, just as long as the Meddling Mage stays in play.) while Conjurer's Ban is a fleeting thing, keeping your opponent from playing a named card for ONE WHOLE TURN at best.

If it were an instant, it COULD be a hard counterspell for WB, but it's a sorcery and there just won't be many times when this card's effect is USEFUL

ENOUGH to consider playing this card. While this card FEELS like a card more useful in constructed, I could imagine it better in limited, when you find yourself in the entirely possible position of playing blue/black/white, having just played a bounce spell to put some creature you hate back in your opponent's hand (or maybe on top of his deck). At this point, playing Conjurer's Ban might be okay, just to keep a crucial card out of play for one turn while giving you a free card draw. Not too crazy about it though.

Conjurer's Ban

This card could potentially have some uses and see play. It a one turn version of Meddling Mage. However, it also lets you draw a card. It could be interesting to see this card get played to stop combos. It can also be used to stop Wrath of God for another turn (or something as equally annoying). I can't see making room for this card just yet, but I wouldn't completely write it off either.

Conjurer's Ban

Um....I have to admit I have not been following this card at ALL. I know when I see it in my sealed decks, I am a sad panda. But as for constructed....I suppose it could be used to fend off some evil combo or card for a turn. The question is, will anyone use it? I HAVE NO IDEA!!!

So I'll just skip the constructed rating, because whatever I say will be wrong. As for casual, it's an anti-whatever card, and very situational, which could make it not good. It's just no fun to have dead cards in your deck.

In limited, it reads: Conjurer's Ban - WB - Draw a card.

Casual - 1.5
Limited - 1.5

Conjurer's Ban

I like this card. I'd like to think that it's the next Meddling Mage, but it's not. Ban is a stall card that basically gives you two "turns", one without your opponent's deadly card, and it gives you an extra card to increase you chances of winning. It's appropriately cost, but it just floats to the graveyard after its effect and does nothing afterwards. The only real interesting thing is that you can name any card, be it an instant, creature or even land. But that's really all. You can't expect game winning results with the Draw a card effect, either. So while I do like the concept, it just can't see play.

Conjurer's Ban

This card is pretty amazing if you think about it.
Black and white in guildpact shows some of the best qualities of their colors, and with black's discard ability makes this card a star for the set. For only 2 mana, it's cost affordable, plus you get to draw a card. Definatly a pick for limited and would probably keep an eye on it for constructed. I'm not sure how this fairs in casual, my guess not well.
