Ohran Viper

This is just a sickly good creature. I'm not sure what all there is to say about it. Green gets creature kill and card draw. That's a pretty hefty combination. I'm already thinking of some crazy things to do with it.

Cosntructed: 4.5
Casual: 4
Limited: 3.5

Ohran Viper
The hot rare of the set. Which ever way that Viper deals damage, you get an excellent effect. It's a fairy no lose situation for someone playing this card. A decent cost for what it does, and very playable in any format.

Casual - 3.5
Limited - 4

The Antman

Orhan Viper- Rare- Coldsnap

This card is probably one of the most talked about cards from coldsnap. Ophidian, but better most people are saying. While I do think this thing is better than the blue snake, it is over rated. There are few decks that will want this in it. Aggro decks with green will deem this too slow and weak, Control decks with green will rarely want to spend their 3rd turn playing this dude instead of a counterspell, plus his mana cost makes him a 'little' iffy in control decks, since most that have green are not based on green at all. Besides that, as a creature this guy is amazing. The ability to draw or kill a creature(with out targeting) is really useful, and it will make your opponet hesitate to block. Even if your opponet has a big creature out, never hesitate to attack with this thing, if you do then your opponet will have more options on what to do, if you just attack your opponet will have a hard time figuring out if he should block it or not, limiting their choices.

Ratings:
Constructed- 3/5 once it finds the right deck it will probably be 4/5
limited- 5/5 a cheep draw engine that also kills creatures
casual- 2/5 nothing too flashy, but it does keep your opponet at bay while drawing you cards

Ohran Viper

As I type this, I'm still fresh from the Coldsnap prerelease. After opening a Viper and seeing it in action, I can say safely that it is a very solid card in Limited. You get extra cards from it, always a positive, and it'll usually either kill whatever blocks it to finally kill it, or it'll draw a removal spell away from your real win condition. Because as great as this is, it will almost never swing for the win.

Constructed- 3
Casual- 3
Limited- 4

Jordan Kronick

Ohran Viper - I'm a big fan of utility creatures that don't bother with extraneous stats. A creature which only needs to do 1 damage to the opponent to do something cool doesn't generally need to waste mana cost on more than 1 power. Hystrodon was an attempt to fuse the card drawing ability with the fat of green, and it just ends up being crossed in purposes. Ohran Viper has very narrow purposes. You won't be winning any damage races with it, but it does what it does very well.

Constructed Rating - 3.7
Casual Rating - 3.4
Limited Rating - 3.3
