Wow, Beacon of Immortality now triples my life total? That's great, except the only thing worse than straight life gain, is a card that does nothing until you gain life. Even in a life gain deck, this just isn't worth the space.

Can you imagine if we had this back when MartyrTron was around? This card will no doubt see play in casual, as there's all sorts of life gain action going on there, and lots of cards that work really well with it (try Congregate in a multiplayer game if it's not house banned, and Serra Avatar). This will see no play in competitive formats, however, because it doesn't do anything on its own, and life gain is typically a questionable strategy anyway.

In limited, again, no.

I noticed that this is the cheapest of the Reflection enchantments - is that what Wizards of the Coast meant when they promised to push or strengthen lifegain? Even so, this doesn't seem to be what decks like Snow White really need right now. Proclamation of Rebirth was a much better partner for that deck because it worked early for a cheap cost, or it worked equally well later on and only required you to have a Martyr in the graveyard rather than in your hand or in play. Angelic Chorus and Congregate love this card, though.

Can you say, toooooooo expensive. This will only see play with tricks to get it into play. Is it possible for this to break some unlimited loop? Possibly. I just don't see it.

Life gain has to be very efficient or added as a side effect for it to work, and this card doesn't do so. If I'm containing life, I should just say "thanks" and move on, not playing an overcosted card to ask for more. Furthermore, I'd rather just play another life gain effect, will will in effect do the same thing but is more versatile.

Constructed: Not a great card. Not much around for life gain in Standard, unless you want to double your Bottle Gnomes or Loxodon Warhammer. Other formats someone will try to play it.

Casual: Oh look I stream of life for alot and double the alot. Got some Beacon?

Limited: Would not be a high pick for draft. Maybe if I have Augury Adept already it would be a cool little combo if they or I surive long enough. Life gain is not all that great in limited format, all it does is make the game take longer, unless you have a plan and need more time to win. Life is one of the major resources for Magic, so use it wisely.
