Cantrips are nice, but I'd really rather not devote deck slots to this that do nothing else.  Play it in Limited train wrecks where you don't have enough creatures or removal spells, to hope that you get to the good stuff faster.

Constructed- 1.5

Casual- 1

Limited- 2

A great card for storm combo, but that's really about it. All this essentially does is filter your mana and draw you a card. Seems like it would be good in the R/G Big Mana decks, but it's really just a waste of space, because it doesn't actually accelerate your mana or do anything else except draw you a card. I wouldn't bother with this, except in Extended/Legacy/Vintage where this will most likely see lots of play in decks like TEPS.

In limited, this is worthless, as it doesn't really do anything.

Constructed - 2, but a 4 in storm combo
Casual - 2
Limited - 1

Personally, I think this card is very overrated. Yeah, yeah, it "thins your deck" (which I think is just jargon you use when you secretly know your deck isn't constructed correctly) and gets you the right colors, but it does nothing to affect the board position. It's decent in combo, but only in combo (and not even every combo deck). This is not a card that should be seen in control decks, and especially not in aggro.

I really want to like this card.  I just can't think of anything amazingly useful to do with it.  It's a good fit for combo decks that use the Storm mechanic.  It's an easy way to cycle some mana and get you one card deeper.  But outside of that, it's uses seem pretty limited.  I've seen a lot of people attempt to just throw this card into decks and it simply does nothing.  I guess in a way, it's like playing with four fewer cards, but I'd rather have "live" cards that affect the game state in their place.

It is a great facilitator. It boosts storm counts and gets you to double mana requirements. However, it doesn’t actually affect the board in any way. Ditto for limited.

Constructed: Interest mana fixer and draws a card. It could help the Elementals, but they have Smokebraider. It is a better because Smokebraider could be killed before it could use it's ability. But if it stays on the board it can is it over an over again, but only for elementals. Green and red always has mana accelerators, but this one lets you draw a card. I would try it out in a Domain deck and see what will happen.

Casual: Fun card. Cheap and will see some play with red and green players.

Limited: It's a great card for a deck with more than three colors. Shadowmoor's hybrid makes it not so usefull. But to draw a extra card is always good. Especially for red and green decks that seem to run out of steam.

Overall I like this card. Will use it for some Domain decks I have to see if it will fit in.

Constructed: 3

Casual: 2

Limited: 4
