Bitterblossom

A victory on the back of a tiny, winged army, at the cost of your life slowly bleeding away.  But what do you care?  You're amassing enough attackers to make the poor fool at the other side of the table leed faster.  Even if your opponent can block fliers, he likely can't block enough of them.  And with you gaining board prescence without any further investment of mana or cards, you can sit back with a fistful of counterspells just picking and choosing your targets.  And should the life payments ever prove problematic?  Just Champion it with a Mistbind Clique and trade it in for a 4/4 flier.

And all this for two mana with no other expectations from your deck..

What is there to say about the best card in standard? If your opponent resolves this on turn 2, winning the game just got a lot harder for you, especially if your opponent is playing the faerie deck. This is one of the cards that puts the faerie deck over the top, as it has so many powerful interactions with the deck's flagship cards, such as Spellstutter Sprite and Mistbind Clique (and remember, if this thing is starting to drop you to dangerously low life, you can champion it). It's even seeing play in non-faerie black decks just for the endless supply of flying beaters/blockers it offers. This card isn't perfect, but it's darn powerful.

In limited, especially if you're playing faeries, pick this. Repeatable creatures is really good.

The card that turned Faeries from a good Standard deck into a great Standard deck. The card that turned mono-black Rogues from a fourth-tier Standard deck into a second-tier Standard deck. The card that displaced the most beautiful Elf Lord in the known multiverse from her own tribe's deck. The card that made Phyrexian Arena look less like a benchmark and more like an outdated curiosity. The most hated card since Umezawa's Jitte. The card that has been responsible for countless victories across countless formats in the last year. Pojo's #1 card of 2008.

What a surprise. This card was second on my list. It was the biggest talked about card for last year for banning for sure. No matter if you like it or hate it, it is one the best cards printed. I had it in a draft once and I did not played it on second turn like most players would. Should have played it on second turn, because I would have won that game about 10 turns sooner. Live and learn. Last year was a good year for Magic in my own opinion. Hope this see some more great cards this year.

I wasn't able to cast my votes for cards but this would be my number one. The insane creature advantage this card gives you is usually enough to win games on it's own. It's like a cheaper phyrexian arena but instead of cards that could be creatures, they're creatures. Not to mention they're fliers and Faeries. Being of the fae variety it can even be championed by your Mistbind Clique. There's a reason Fae is a powerhouse right now. In the mirror it's said whoever resolves one first wins. As my fav color and as the most powerful card in standard right now I just can't say enough good things. I think giving it a 5 i limited is not even farfetched. Near Endless flyers, yes please. This card can even go in token decks or sac decks for free fodder.
