Lord of Extinction

For every card that exists, there exists a nearly infinite number of ways of looking at it. I don't like thinking of cards in terms of what they can't do or their shortcomings: when you open one of these in an Alara Reborn booster or as an Hour of Devastation Invocation, are you going to feel better if you see a card with great art which nonetheless gets blocked by a Saproling, or the most ridiculous ever interaction with Fling or Greater Good? For competitive constructed, there are probably faster options, but there's no better feeling for multiplayer formats than having a creature with power higher than the sum of two players' life totals.

It’s simple, but it's pretty massive. And you would hope so, given that you're spending 5 mana on a creature with no combat keywords and no protection! What you get, though, is a massive body who looks at all cards in all graveyards. Dies to removal is sort of a thing to be thankful for here, because staring down a 13/13 (or bigger) Lord of Extinction, who conveniently is in colors well-suited to killing all the things, is sure to ruin any day.
