Ah, I remember when I first got into Magic. I hadn't a single good rare
under my name-just a load of commons that friends had extra of. I had a R/B deck
with lots of creature destruction and direct damage. Basically, I would always
have a destroy creature card in hand to toast them up badly--then hit then with
cheap creatures and direct damage for the win.
Uncommons:
3 Cinder Shade
2 Halam Djinn
Commons:
4 Dark Banishing
4 Terror
4 Agonizing Demise
4 Snuff Out
4 Shock
4 Seal of Fire
2 Scorching Lava
4 Raging Goblin
3 Shivan Zombie
Lands:
13 Swamps
9 Mountains
Well, the deck was something like that...Didn't have a sideboard for
it.
Strategy: Hopefully, you'll have one creature, 2 lands, and creature
destruction and direct damage in your opening hand. Wait for em to lay down a
creature and smack it up. It's lack of creatures meant death against Blastoderm,
Deadly Insect and other untargetables.
Now, with more options available, the deck could be much improved to look
something like this:
Uncommons:
3 Cinder Shade
2 Halam Djinn
Commons:
3 Raging Goblin
3 Phyrexian Battleflies
3 Maggot Carrier
2 Lava Zombie
4 Terror
4 Terminate
4 Dark Banishing
3 Agonizing Demise
3 Snuff Out
4 Shock
2 Rhystic Lightning
Lands:
13 Swamps
8 Mountains
Well, less direct damage, but more creatures...Same strategy--lay down your
early creatures, then remove their blockers with the creature
destruction.
Well, that's it, have fun with the deck...
