A traditional Fantastic Four deck will like this card, as it can give a multitude of bonuses.  I think the deck is goes into will have to be somewhat specialized, and I'm not sure it will see much tournament play.

In limited, it's not very good at all.  Actually, it's downright terrible.

Marvel’s First Family

Today we are going to take a look at a good card to put in your deck if you are running a mono-FF.

Marvel’s First Family is definitely an interesting card.  I have a feeling that this card is going to be slightly under rated by most FF players simply because players are not going to use this card to its full advantage.  This card screams ‘play me on turn 5’ as by that time you should have Invisible Woman, Thing, Human Torch, and possibly Mr. Fantastic on the field.  Imagine you could get +1 attack, +1 defense, an equipment card from your KO pile, flight and range….all in one turn!  It would be like playing a fantasticar and a salvage all in the same turn.

OK…so this card will probably not make the cut in a FF variation, but I do not see any problem with a mono-FF running 3 of these cards.

Ratings:

Mono FF constructed deck – 3.5/5.0 ….This card can give you an edge when you need it most.

Limited – 1.0/5.0 ….You are probably not going to get the characters you need to make this card worthwhile…and it does not have a high enough resell value to hang on to it anyways.

Marvel's First Family

This is one of those cards that is so cool but very limited in its usage if you want to use all of its effects. Certainly if you are running a pure FF deck you want to use multiple copies of this card. Otherwise you don’t have to have all characters in play to get some of the effects to work. For instance if you are running a Common Enemy deck with Dr. Doom and Thing in it you can use this card so that your characters get +1 ATK this turn. If you are running Spider-Friends with Human Torch then you can give all your characters Flight and Range. So there are plenty of options with Marvel’s First Family. Sadly it is a one time effect. Wouldn’t it be great if it was ongoing?

Constructed: 2/5 – Much better in a pure FF beats deck. You can get some utility usage out of this card for other decks but overall there are better ways of granting these effects in other decks than to use this card.

Limited: 1/5 – This is one of the unusually unusable cards in draft if you are drafting pure Web of Spiderman. Otherwise it might be playable if you are drafting MSM with MOR.
