Metagame Talk

Hey there Folks, first off let me say welcome to Jeffthebear’s Cavern. My Email is at the bottom of this article so please send me a deck list every week or twice a week I will select the deck list I receive from you and give it a complete makeover and make it ready for competitive play. When you do send me deck lists enclose your spending limit or perhaps what you are able to do, I don’t want to suggest something that you may not be able to afford or don’t have. Anyways on the article…..

Ok so I wanted to start an article station for myself awhile ago but I have been busy so I Haven’t been able to but now however I have the time and after seeing the Gencon deck lists I said to myself “Wow these decks aren’t very good” with the exception of a few , I probably could have top 8’d and now wished I attended. Anyways moving on my whole point of this article today is to talk about the current meta…..In short…..it sucks……fierce.

My first problem with the current meta is the striking resemblance to the infamous Chaos meta of Yu-gi-oh. It’s at the point where no deck can be completive without having at least some of the following cards in it.

- SASUKE ANALYSIS OF COMPETENCE
- Zabuza Momochi Demon of the Cloud Village
- Eight Trigram Divination Jutsu
- Water Vortex Jutsu
- Appearance of Unknown Rivals
- Some form of Kakashi

These Aren’t all of them but are a few of the culprits who make it impossible to win without playing some sort of fire or water build. I was looking through the deck lists and it sickens me to see things like this.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! So basically no matter what deck you play, it has to have Sasuke AOC in it I don’t care what deck your playing you can’t win without this card like what’s going on this game is turning into Yu-gi-oh with the Chaos Soldier.

I plead to you Bandai Since North America has basically changed the whole anime and the names and edited pretty much everything that was good about the series I beg you Bandai to at least edit something that matters these cards please make the Meta good again of introduce a balance of the elements. I have never been a fan of Magic the Gathering, mainly because there was no TV show or anything to hook me in but they also play on a similar system with the different elements. What I noticed about that game however is that they are at least balanced unlike this game. Don’t even ever think of playing earth decks or wind unless its mental in which case everybody’s sideboard is ready for you so there’s no point anyway.

Bandai has no released info about their new set coming out in February and it looks like they are going to continue this trend. Lets take a look at a few of these cards that will be released.

[Valid]: When this card is the user of [Water] symbol jutsu cards, reduce that jutsu cost by 1 [Water].
Rarity: Rare

Hahahaha! You can’t help but laugh when you see stuff like this, because you don’t know what else to do. So it looks like unless you already play a water deck if you don’t get prepared to switch because nothing will stand in water’s way next set and if you don’t play water with 3 Sasuke of course.
You can’t win so don’t try. Good Job Bandai, North America, and of course the Original Creators of the Game.

Anyways Welcome to the start of a broken metagame and broken Elements and broken hearts of player who will never win without some of these cards.
