Lightning Blade (aka Chidori or 1000 Birds)

Pros: Only Two Cost
+7 Power

Cons: Kakashi Only

I’ll be brief considering it’s a little obvious why this card is amazing. Giving a ninja +7 is huge. Giving a ninja +7 for just two chakra, Priceless, except for the two chakra. Who cares if you can only use it with Kakashi? Kakashi goes in every fire deck there is anyway, even if he is just the Vanilla version and this is just icing on the cake of a really great ninja, especially [Early Settlement]. In short, Kakashi good, Kakashi with a lightning glove on that can cut a bolt of lightning, that might be a little better.

Constructed: 5/5
Limited: 4.5/5 (Even if I didn’t have a Kakashi I’d still take it, it’s just that good)
Art: 5/5 (Finally art that does its card justice)

Lightning Blade

The Good

-Huge Boost

-Cheap Cost

The Bad

-Specific target

Before Gencon, this card was looked at as a simple first set super rare. But now, we see this card for what is really is; a team wrecking beast! With just one fire and one colorless chakra, you have a boost of seven, which makes even a vanilla Kakashi a 12. With him in a team, you can easily win an overwhelming victory for less than a Trigram. The only problem is the fact that it only boost Kakashi, which hurts it's playability alot. But with a dedicated deck running three Kakashi's, getting him onto the board and in position to use a huge attack isn't impossible. And for the reward of an almost guarenteed overwhelming victory, it's almost hard not to run this card.

Constructed 4/5

Limited 3/5 (If you pull both a L. Blade and Kakashi, run it)

Stryker

Well, it's usually said that the best is always saved for last, and sadly, this week ends in a bit of a sour note...

Lightning Blade-Super Rare Fire Jutsu; Costs: Fire-1
Requirements: "Kakashi Hatake"
Target: User
Effect: The target gets +7/+0 during this turn.

The super popular Lightning Blade (Chidori, for fans of Naruto who enjoy the pure Japanese version), was killer when the Path to Hokage came out, no doubt. The ability to pump up your Kakashi by 7 points, making him a potential 13 Team Power and above, gave you the ability to destroy an opposing Ninja Team. But lately, with newer cards being released, it seems as this version of the Chidori is slowly fading away into the background. For the cost of 2 Chakras, one being Fire, and the other of any element, you can increase Kakashi's Combat by 7 points. There are a few ways to negate this card, or even worse, have it discarded, with the new Byakugan cards. However, if you do manage to pull off the effect, it could spell disaster for your opponent, providing they don't, or can't stop it.

Constructed: 2/5 (The new Lightning Blade fits better)
Limited: 2.5/5 (Slightly more usable)

Bogosian Explosion

Ello poppets! Sorry i was out of commision yesterday, I was busy and ended up going to a Naruto tournament. It was pretty sad =( I swept everyone...which was weird cause i had to mulligen down to four on my first match. MEH easy come easy go, on with the review!

Ehh It's lightning blade....ooook, its like the only secret rare besides crystal ice mirrors that i have never seen play. First off, it requires a specific ninja, Kakashi. Everyone who runs a fire deck runs three so this shouldn't be to much of a problem. Then if you can use it it is a +7, which in most cases is a free overwhelming. I have to say though that the other lightning blade would own this one...having the chance to discard the user of this lightning blade...yep give me the discard effect any day.

Decent card if you own it, I don't. Have fun with it, show it off, whatever ticles your fancy.

Constructed: 3/5
Limited: 3/5
