We move on today with more fire cards. Today’s card is a gamble. For those of you lucky people out there, this is the card for you.

General-
For 3 fire chakra, you can potentially discard every ninja on a team with Zabuza as the user. Of course, I said potentially, which is usually not a good thing. For each ninja, you need to flip a coin. From there you have a 50/50 chance to give a ninja 1 damage. There is the possibility that you will discard every ninja, but there is also the possibility that you won’t even get 1 damage out. For 3 fire chakra, it’s better to use fire ball jutsu to get one guarantee damage.

The cost for Fireball Jutsu is greater as well, because you can use 2 fire chakra and 1 anything. This makes it more friendly for decks that have both fire and another element. Verse Phoenix Flower, which cost 3 fire, it would be harder to gather those chakra compare to Fireball. This card requires more dedication to fire in a deck.

Construction: 2.5/5

Beastly Bruin Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu

I really wanted to like this card. Really. But three specific Chakra for an effect that isn't guaranteed to go off is a waste of space in a competitive environment. There are more than enough good Fire jutsus out there (and even more heading our way) that you don't have to include this card.

As for the effect, the good thing about it is that it's a three-Chakra jutsu that doesn't require a Jonin. Also, it has the potential to obliterate an entire team/strategy. But that's about where the pros end. The cons are that it costs three specific Chakra. Although if you're throwing this in a Fire or Fire Hybrid deck, it probably wouldn't be too hard...the question remains, is it worth it. Plus, the effect is chancy. Best case scenario would have you get three heads, but it's not guaranteed, and you DON'T want to use this on a team of less than three nin.

Bottom line, this card bows at the feet of 8 Trigram. This card is a rare, so you probably won't come across it in Limited. But, if you do, and you're drafting a good amount of Fire cards, this card would be more valuable to you there than in Constructed.

Now, remember back on Monday how that card was slightly less useful with a new card looked at this week. Here it is, Phoenix Flower Jutsu is a riskier, rentsier, Fire Ball. Let's compair:

Cost:
- Fire Ball is Fire|Fire|One
- Phoenix Flower is Fire|Fire|Fire

Target:
- Fire Ball is "1 Ninja"
- Phoenix Flower is "Every Ninja Battling Against the User"

Effect:
- Fire Ball: 1 Damage to the target, no damage if the target has a Flame Combat.
- Phoenix Flower: Flip a coin for each target, Heads makes 1 damage happen to them.

This is a case of greater risk for greater reward. Fire Ball is an upper hand card, Phoenix Flower is a under hand card. Phoenix Flower works best when they have a full team, and based on your luck changes if you win out or get nothing. I like hedging on luck a bit more than others, and this card is a fine choice to do it. You're risking a misfire of 0 damage (50% for 1 target, 25% for 2 targets, 12.5% chance for 3) to chances at 1 damage (37.5% if the team is 3), 2 damage (37.5%) and 3 damage (12.5%). Since three out of four options are benificial to you (87.5% for a good thing to happen for you) not much reason not to run 1 of them. However, it's a Fire only due to the Fire|Fire|Fire cost.

Constructed (Fire): 4/5
Limited: 3/5
Art: Meh/5
