based on a 1 to 5 scale 1 being the worst.
3 ... average. 5 is the highest rating.
Shikamaru Nara [Formation]
here we go with the second of the three, but first
in my book.
Needless to say, this ninja is the mental ninja, he
does have the highest mental power in the game. Most
mental decks use him as the biggest power. On the
other hand, opponents can also use it to go against
mental decks. Just splash 2 in the side/main deck to
fight off those mental nightmares. He also has 1
support, which is normal for a 0 drop. On top of
that, only this Shikamaru can chump block.
There is really not much to say about him. In a
mental it's a must, until the new one comes out. In
any other decks, it is a worthy side deck.
Constructed: 5.0/5 (mental before Curse)
Constructed: 3.5/5 (any other before Curse)
Shikamaru Nara [Formation]
Now, if this wasn obvious because of yesterday, you
better guess tomorrow! This is the non-Lazy
Shikamaru, and he is in fact both weaker and
stronger than his previous form. 0/1 - 0/0 - M4 is
sad (for the regular combat) then awesome (for the
mental combat) all at once. Like yesterday there is
no turn or hand issue. And his Shadow Combat type
lets him use all his own Jutsu cards. Now then, he
also has an effect, and it's much like Ino's. When
he's on a team with Choji and Ino he gains +0/+2.
This is not bad for a Turn 0 to become 0/3 on Turn 2
(if you play all 3 in a row). However this isn't his
He's also a staple in Mental combat decks thanks to
his BETTER THAN EVERYONE mental combat. The only
thing smarter than Shikamaru is... no, nevermind,
nothing. He's the smartest ninja out there. Meaning
no Mental combat deck is without him.
As for his Shikamaru Score... I like next set's
better, but for now:
Shikamaru Nara rating - 4.9999/5 (Lazy Bum is a
better ability name)
Constructed rating (InoShikaCho) - 5/5
Constructed rating (Mental Combat) - 5/5
Limited rating - 3.5/5 (Unlike Ino, his super genius
status means he's valuable, as otherwise Ibiki will
just run over your corpse with ease.)
Art - What a Drag/5

VALID: This Ninja get +0/+2 when “Ino Yamanaka” and
“Choji Akimichi” are in this Ninja’s Team.
Hey everyone. Sorry I haven’t sent in any reviews
lately. Between work and school, it’s been literally
killing all my time. College is VERY time consuming.
So, I’ll try to send in more reviews. On to this
First off, my fave char is also one of my fav cards
in this game, Shikamaru (it’s Shi-KA-ma-ru, not
Shi-ka-MA-ru.) Anyway, he is a Turn 0, so you can
play him during the first turn and later. His stats
aren’t great, but his effect and mental power are
useful. He has the highest Mental Power for a Turn 0
card. Also, his effect makes him a 0/3 when combined
with Ino and Choji (Team Asuma) Ino and Choji also
get boosts when combined as a team.
Shikamaru works well in a wide range of decks. He
fits in the obvious Ino-Shika-Cho deck, since he’s
IS part of the team. Also, he is useful in a Mental
Power deck, since his MP of 4 gives him an unmatched
advantage. I would use the other Shika (from the
Path to Hokage set) in an Agro Earth deck. It’s
troublesome, but he’s a decent card when used in the
Constructed:2.5//5 Put in the decks mentioned above
and you’ll get the boost you need.
Limited: 3/5 Awesome if you get Ibiki in the draft.
