Earth Style: Mud Wall

Well, at only one earth chakra, it's cheap (free if you're using the First). What can it stop, you ask? Well, it's earth's answer against any fire-type (or other) damage jutsus. Unfortunately, those are frequently overpriced or uncertain, and don't see widespread play. Try this in the side deck.

Limited: 1.5/5.... again, good luck stopping dragon flame bombs
Constructed: 3/5.... in a side deck; it's very cheap and can stop expensive effects

Earth Style: Mud Wall
Jutsu-Earth
Cost: 1 Earth

Target: All your ninjas

Effect: The target cannot receive damage from Jutsu cards this turn.

Sorry for not getting a review in yesterday, 5-page papers will do that to ya lol. Anyway, we look at some nice Revenge and Rebirth jutsu cards this week, and here is Earth Style: Mud Wall.

This jutsu is nice and cheaply costed for the effect you get out of it. Along with no rank requirement, it is a real flexible addition to an Earth deck. While this card is less specific than the Water Wall jutsu, it still sort of lacks a good amount of targets to negate. Besides the obvious Fire jutsus, this can also save you from Paper Bomb, 8 Trigrams 64 Palms, Water Dragon Jutsu, Wind Blade, etc. I'd say that this card is strictly a side deck option for when you face heavy fire decks or decks that you know use those specific jutsus.

Constructed: 3/5: A good card with nothing against it except a lack of targets.

Limited: 2/5: Even less targets, could only really protect against Dragon Flame Bombs or 64 palms, both rare shots.

J-152 Water Style: Water Wall (Element: Water)
Cost: Water | Water
Target: Each of your Ninjas.
Effect: The target cannot be the target of your
opponent’s Jutsu cards with the “Fire” symbol during
this turn.

Hello Pojo-ers, sorry I missed Wednesday’s review, I was having some computer troubles.

Anyway, this card is just miserable. Another card with a similar name from Curse of the Sand (“Water Wall”) negates a fire Jutsu being played and sends the card to your opponent’s discard pile. They have the same costs and the same easy-to-meet requirements, but this card pales horribly in comparison. Why make all your ninjas invulnerable to fire jutsus (which would send their fire jutsu to chakra) when you can just counter the jutsu and take out the potential chakra at the same time? Besides, the only multi-target jutsus fire has (Dragon Flame Bombs, Phoenix Flower) can be negated by the more versatile Water Wall.

Constructed: 1/5 (The Water Wall from Curse is far superior.)
Limited: 3/5 (If your opponent does happen to have fire jutsus, any negation is good.)
Art: 4/5 (The effect is terrible, but the art is pretty cool!)

Beastly Mage

Greetings, Pojo-ers. Today's card is Earth Style: Mud Wall Jutsu. This card does have some potential. No damage from Jutsus sounds good. And for just one Earth Chakra it's not that costly. Try it and see.

Ratings:

Constructed: 3/5
Limited: 2/5
Art: 2/5
