Gaara of the Desert [Possessed Mode]

Obviously, only play him in a Shukaku deck. In yugioh, this is what we would call a "nomi;" it can only be put into play by using a specific card, etc., and unless they have extremely good effects, usually involving protecting themselves, they are not used. On one hand, it takes a Gaara and a Sand Cocoon to bring him out, and you can't have him on the field at the same time as the Gaara you just popped back to your hand. On the other hand, if you draw Gaara or chibi Gaara and a Sand Coccoon, you can get him out early. Also, once you have him out, you can get Shukaku on the very next turn and rather painlessly.

Limited: no sand cocoon/5
Constructed: how awesome you think Shukaku is/5
Art: Have you heard of the new pill to get rid of those ugly blue veins?

Gaara of the Desert
(Possessed Mode)
N-179

Welcome to another week of reviews, fellow Pojo-ers. Today's card is one that is a bit strange to some. Think about it: a turn-5/one discard Genin? Now, when you look at the effect it doesn't really matter. The only way he can be sent out is by the effect of Sand Cocoon, which means you need another Gaara out on the field first. The upside of this card is that during your mission phase you can send this guy to the Chakra area and send out Shukaku, which is just great, assuming you're able to do it. Sometimes it just doesn't happen, so be careful.

Ratings:

Limited: No Sand Coccoon/5
Constructedd: 3/5 (Shukaku deck: 5/5)
Art: 4/5

Monday's card is Gaara of the Desert, Possessed Mode from Eternal Rivalry. This card is part of what will make a Sand Deck possible. Though you can only put him into play with Sand Cocoon, you can possible get a big 6/0 out on turn 2 and play Shukaku with Gaara's effect next turn. This card also allows you to break the rules and play more than three Gaaras so you can use this one, your choice of a Turn 2 Gaara, preferrably Conversation, and Turn 0 Gaara in threes as well as 3 Shukakus for a total of 12 Sand attribute Ninjas, which makes Jutsus like Sand Coffin and Sand Shield finally usable. For all the Gaara fans, the Sand deck is now possible.
Limited: 1/5(its unplayable in a tournament because Sand Cocoon isn't in the same set).
Constructed: 4/5 in a Gaara deck(you're not using him otherwise)
