Beastly Mage

Rasengan (pr070)

Hey, Naruto Fans. Today's card is one that's been on many a wishlist in this game. Rasengan gives Jiraiya, the Fourth Hokage, or a Clone Status Naruto +7/0. That's a good thing... BUT it gives the user a damage at the end of the turn to the whole team. That's bad in most cases. But, sometimes it can be good. Both Naruto and the Fourth are stronger when injured. It's kinda of a so-so jutsu, since it needs a deck that can really use it well, rather than just get splashed in.

Ratings:

Limited: Promo/5
Constructed: 4/5 but only in its own deck
Art: Ka-Me-Ha-Me... Whoops, wrong show!/5

Well, it's easy to compare this to chidori because it is Naruto's signature move, like Chidori was Sasuke's but they are very different.

Chidori is a better card when you are looking at Chidori and Rasengan by themselves.
However, Shikamaru [Formation] locks Sasuke [Beyond the Limits], making Chidori a 3-chakra jutsu. (Removing a lot of Freedori's power.)

However, if you have Shu in play, Naruto can play Rasengan for one lightning regaurdless of whether your opponent's Shikamaru is negating your Naruto's effect.

Rasengan isn't better than Chidori however, despite the fact that Chidori's huge weakness is Shikamaru [Formation] vs your Sasuke [Beyond the Limits].

It requires Shu to make it any more efficient than Chidori, and it injures your whole team.

If you fill your deck with cards to heal your ninjas, those cards are just taking up space which could be used for better effects.

Besides, if you Outstanding your opponents team and all your ninjas take damage, you aren't creating that much advantage anyway.

All in all, it's a pretty weak jutsu. I'd rather play Freedori than a Rasengan deck, even though Eternal Rivalry is shaping up to seriously weaken mono-fire.

Rasengan

Today we look at the first Rasengan we've seen. It's a Lightning Jutsu that costs 2 Lightning and 1 of any other chakra. So it's kind of expensive. The question is if this Jutsu is worth running in a Lightning deck. It requires either the Fourth Hokage, Jiraiya, and Naruto + Clone Status. So it's a specific Jutsu, but these are the big bad Lightning Users aside from Naruto. The effect gives the Target +7/+0 much like Chidori except Chidori is +5/+0. However, Rasengan has a side effect that gives 1 damage to every ninja in the user's team. I don't think this card will see too much play. Most people will compare to Freedori. There is supposed to be another Rasengan that is supposed to come out later that is going to be better. For now, I'd wait on using a Rasengan card.

My rating:

Constructed: 2.5/5

Limited: 2/5

Hello All! It's Monday and time for a CotD. Today's card is Rasengan from the soon to come Eternal Rivalry set. This card is a card with few possibilities. Since the Forth Hokage is better injured, this card would make him God!!! There really isn't much other use for this card IMO.

Ratings:

Limited 2/5
Constructed 1/5
Art 3/5
