Gaara of
the Desert [Alone]
Welcome to another week of reviews. Today's card is
Gaara before he was a Genin. For a turn-0/rankless
Ninja he's pretty strong in healthy. Problem is
making a team for him. He can only be in a team with
Sand Ninjas. That can be a bit of a challenge in
limited, and in constructed there are better choices
for a Gaara. If he would have given "Growth" to the
Gaaras in your hand as well this could have been a
better option, but, that's just me. =P
A horrible card in my
opinion. I'd play vanilla Shino before I'd touch
this. It's stats are equal to other ninjas from
other elements with NO drawbacks (Sasuke #1 Rookie,
Naruto when injured, Choji chubby) but it can't go
out to battle except with sand ninjas. If you run
Temari that might not be a problem, but what if you
don't draw Temari? What if Temari is the target of
Ino? Serious problems that make this a bad card.
In limited, it's a 3/0 on turn 0, and you might have
Temari and Yashamaru to back it up. I'd run it just
because it's a 0 drop that will hopefully prevent
your opponent from attacking on their first turn, at
least until they can make a team bigger than 3.

Today's Monday. Ugh. My
bad day. Well, not really. Monday's nice. NO
homework due!............. If your teachers have any
amount of kindness left in those cold, cold hearts.
So, today's COTD (which really stands for Cute
Orange Tiger Dung, but we don't want you to know
that) is a bit screwed. It's Gaara of the Desert.
Bandai made a typo. This card's name should be Gaara,
NOT Gaara of the Desert. But Bandai and their lazy
butts have not errata'd this. You can't use 3 of
them with a normal Gaara.
Okey-dokey now. This Gaara is not only adorable, but
emo too. In fact, because only a hyper-n00b would
use this over the normal Gaara, until he gets
errata'd. As a result, I'm going to spend the rest
of this review ranting and commenting on how cute he
is. Yes, I'm that evil >:) Haven't you ever seen a
cute little thing like this!? Just look at him! He's
so little and yet so emo! And he's even got his OWN
LITTLE TEDDY BEAR!!! OH MY GOD IT'S SOOOOO CUTE!
BANDAI YOU SUCK FOR PICKING ON THIS LITTLE D00D LIKE
THAT! I'M QUITTING IF YOU DON'T ERRATA HIM!!! NAH!

This Gaara's a turn 0, but only has 3/0, and nothing
when injured. Plus the effect just plain sucks. AND
IT'S VALID. Ew.

(Bonus points for cuteness, +1 each! Well, in casual
play. Pros don't care how cute it is) Next Time: A

Yay I'm doing
something Naruto-related while on holiday!
Reminds me of
Shikamaru [Lazy Bum]. This gaara is one of the
worst cards in the game in my opinion. It can
only be send out with Sand ninja (thank god it
is a sand ninja) so unless you run temari and
draw her with this Gaara, it is basically
pointless. AoC would be better.
In limitd, it could be
a bit better, as it could act as a "decoy",
scaring your opponent not to attack and chump
blocking. It could also attack by itself, which
is decent at least.
Constructed: 2/5 (I
would seriously use the path to hokage vanilla
sakura over this)
Limited: 3/5 (there
are better 0 drop limited ninja, though)
Art: Isn't Gaara part
made using non-natural processes, so how can it
be alone? Why would it want a teddy bear?/5
