Beastly Mage

The Fourth Hokage & Gamabunta

Welcome to another week of reviews, Naruto Fans. Today's card is from Series 11: The Fourth Hokage and Gamabunta.

Now this is one card that is sure to please a lot of players. First, the effect: it sends one Ninja on your opponent's side to the bottom of the deck. That is one painful effect (for your opponent). Second, we take into consideration the stats. 9/4 and 8/5 is simply beautiful. Plus, this platoon can use both 'Bunta and Fourth Jutsus (Liquid Bullets, anyone?). In limited it's gonna be a tad difficult to use since there is no Fourth in this set to platoon. But, in constructed... this is pure pwn4g3.

Ratings:

Limited: 2/5 (if you can guess how to platoon this card)

Constructed: 4.5/5

Art: Hey, it's the Fourth and a Godzilla-Sized Toad... what else do you want?!/5

Welcome to another week of Naruto reviews!
I hope you are somewhere warm this week, because here in Colorado, it’s negative 11 degrees outside. It’s that bitter cold that you can feel your eyeballs freeze as you walk. Anyway, on to the review.

The Fourth Hokage and Gamabunta

It’s unfortunate that the first platoon of these incredibly powerful ninja is so incredibly useless. Given, they have a good effect, but I’d rather keep the two separate. Their effect bounces a ninja of your opponents to the bottom of their deck. Neat, but a one-time use. Plus, they are either a 9 combat or a 4 support healthy. If you have them separate, then they are a 13 total team power. Plus, Gama can’t be removed, and the new Fourth has that “win 3 battle rewards” effect. This card is pretty much useful for collectors only, unless they bring a card in the future that can “de-platoon” a ninja.

Limited: 1/5
Constructed: 2/5
Art: Always like seeing the 4th on cards, even if it is a worthless one.

The First Hokage
Fourth Hokage and Gamabunta

Today we continue to look at Approaching Wind, the newest addition to the Naruto CCG. Today, we look at no other than the Fourth Hokage and Gamabunta Platoon.

I am first off going to say that I have been in and out of TCG's and just moved away from Yugioh for a little while just to see what Konami has in store for it. Anyways, with that ran being over. The Fourth and Gamabunta Platoon in reality should be amazing. Seriously, these are like two of the best characters in Naruto... Well that's where you're all wrong. This Platoon in my opinion is god awful. It's turn 8 with a mental power of 2 with an effect that isn't remotely that well off. The effect says when this ninja is put into play, you can move 1 of your opponent's in play ninjas to the bottom of its original owners deck. It's a nice effect, but there are so many better cards out there and well, this card is simply outclasses and not many games go to turn 8 anyways.

Ratings: Constructed: 2/5
Limited: 3/5
Mark Howard Hello, world, I'm back to reviewing cards! No introduction for you. Here's today's overpowered card, the 4th and Gamabunta.

If you can get your hands on a few copies of 4th, and have a Toad deck, rejoice. You now have yet another Gamabunta platoon, and yet another instant win. Basically, you play this (and you will), auto-kill their best Ninja, and beat the living crap out of them with a huge-ass platoon.

4/5
Art: Is it just me, or do the new 4th Hokage cards look bad?
Next time: He's a mighty stupid-looking guy, Kisame.
Fun Fact: I now have Sasuke OC. And I only lost because of my own Sasuke four times so far....
The Poo Toucher

Today we are reviewing a very good card.....that was unfortunately overshadowed by another card in the same set. (Get into that a little later)

The Fourth Hokage & Gamabunta platoon was highly anticipated card from set 11. It's effect is once it is put into play, removes an opposing ninja from the field and puts it at the bottom of the owner's deck.

Seeing as how ninja effects go onto the chain now, I would have liked it to have valid though that won't be an issue 90% of the time....but still.

There are a few upsides to this card: Mental power is a nice bonus as lightning's only bad matchup stat wise is mental power. It also removes any big threat to you instantly just by platooning.

It has many downsides however: First and most obvious is that you have to give 1 of 2 high turn ninjas in gamabunta or the fourth hokage, effectivly losing boad prescense for almost no stat boost (it takes the combat from bunta and the support from the 4th).

A little less obvious is that another platoon came in toad decks named naruto & gamabunta, seeing as how it's 2 turns faster (5 turns if you platoon it from naruto & gamakichi ) along with giving the naruto & gamabunta platoon protection from both ninja effects and from jutsu cards, it makes this platoon much less appealing

The last downnote I will leave you with is this, in this game right now, the best decks are abusing the oveflowing chakra ninjas, and they escape this effect entirely! Obviously you can take away someone else, but removing that naruto/sasuke/kimmimaro would be much better.

Lightning has the best method of curve jumping in toads right now, so in those decks I could see 1 of Fourth Hokage & Gamabunta in that deck. Any more than that I feel isn't necessary.

Constructed: 2 out of 5. toads has better cards availible

Limited:  1 out of 5. you can't play the card, but you just got a SR.

Art: 4 out of 5. anything with the fourth hokage on it is instantly cool

Until next time, truley yours: The Poo Toucher

Mylo Gamabunta and 4th Hokage- Eight drop, 1 hand cost, 9/4 healthy, 8/5 injured, Lightning and Water, Oil/Ninjutsu, Sannin and Mental 2. WOW. Toads just got another big hitter platoon with a broken effect. When you put him in play, Return one of your opponent's ninjas to the bottom of their deck. Absolutely amazing effect for toads. For an even bigger turn, play this ninja and the platoon it over with naruto gamabunta. Not to mention, this thing matches nine tail fox in terms of base power.

Constructed: 5/5 in toads, 4/5 in lightning running 4th
Limited: 2/5 there isnt much of a chance to get BOTH this and Naruto Gamabunta.
