Beastly Mage

The Eight Inner Gates

Welcome to another week of reviews, Naruto Fans. Today's card is from Set 11, a Jutsu that's sure to please every Rock Lee/Guy Sensei fan out there. The Eight Inner Gates can give any target two damage. Notice it doesn't say "Discard". Thing is that it also gives the user one damage. Not a bad downside unless the user's already damaged. Still, it helps to get rid of pesky Ninjas and get you one step closer to victory. Try it and see.

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 4/5

Happy Holidays everyone!

We only have two previews for you this week, so enjoy the holidays.

The Eight Inner Gates

This jutsu honestly, is pretty decent for the decktype. Unlike the first version, both Lee and Might Guy can use it. Of course, you really only want one Lee playing it, High Speed Move from ER. Can’t be negated and he can’t be removed. For three of any kind of chakra, you can outright destroy one ninja, at the cost of one damage to the user. Well, Lee drops like a rock when he gets hit (unless it’s the new vanilla one) and Guy barely drops at all. Or, you could use the Guy/Lee platoon and drop this beast card for only 1 lightning chakra. If you are running the Lee/Guy theme deck, this card is a must. Too bad it’s art looks like it was cropped from some other picture and resized…

Limited: 5/5 (2 Lee and 2 Might Guy in this set makes it easy to draft.)
Constructed: 4/5 (If using the decktype)
Art: Someone seriously got lazy with MS paint.
The Poo Toucher Hello one and all. This is going to be a short week due to the holidays.

Today we go over The Eight Inner Gates from the new set Approaching Winds. It requires Rock Lee or Might(y) Guy and for 3 generic chakra you deal 2 damage to a ninja battling against the user along with 1 damage to the user.

It's a solid card, 3 chakra is fairly standard cost to either give 2 damage or remove a ninja, add to that it's all generic, meaning you can put this card in a lot of different decks (it reminds me of the 9000 reign, where someone at a kage event was playing wind and put naruto 2K barrage in a deck along with naruto impostor to surprise people with a devastating early game jutsu) and in lightning with reunion, you're going to have a lot of off color chakra, so in that aspect it's really cool.

In the competitive scene, however, it can get lost in the shuffle. In the leedori you want to play double dynamic entry and high speed move taijutsu in the deck. You also do not want your high speed move rock lee to get injured as he surcomes to that ever popular "sasuke syndrome" in other words, he's a 0/0 injured. I could see it making a mark however, in a very popular archtype called "Milkshake" where the majority of your ninja have no effect at all! by playing iruka accurate analysis and pakkun hidden intelligence you give all of your no effect ninja's +2/+2, it just so happens that there is a new no effect rock lee that is a 3/0 3/0 or a 5/2 5/2 with those 2 other ninjas on the table. That, and the new might(y) guy that is a 7/0 5/0 (9/2 7/2 with said ninjas) means 2 users for the eight inner gates that don't lose too much after giving themselves the damage.

in closing, I could see it as a 1-2 of if you run a rock lee/might(y) guy that keeps good status after giving himself the 1 damage, if not try out double dynamic entry

Constructed: 3 out of 5. I like the card, but it is a little underpowered compared to other cards in this set.

Limited: 4 out of 5. Lots of users and you pulled a super.

Art: 4 out of 5. He's so angry!
