Beastly Mage

Naruto Uzumaki

Welcome to another week of reviews, Naruto fans. Hope you had a blast on X-Mas. I sure did.

Today's card is Naruto Uzumaki [For the Promise]. This version of Naruto has a valid effect. By removing a "Promise Coin" and he gets +3/+3 AND Clone Status during the turn. This, of course, comboes well with a certain client that gets "Promise Coins" as soon as he hits the field (HIkaru Tsuki, c-044). This version of Naruto works well in a deck based on Promise Coins. Try it and see.

 N-397 Naruto Uzumaki-For the Promise

Hello, hello everyone.  It's been awhile since I've done reviews, so be kind...as if you wouldn't.  This week will be kinda short, and all dedicated to that kinda short hero of your favorite series, Naruto!

When first looking at this card, it seems like a nice pump effect that can assumably be used three times with Hikaru, one of two cards in the game that gives promise coins.  But let's take a closer look at Hikaru, shall we?...yep, just as I suspected, he's not Michiru!  Not even close!  This Naruto, unlike Guardian of the Prince, won't even search him out, making him that much harder to draw, and making him that much more likely a vanilla card on field.

I can't see playing this card over Michiru and Guardian, because at least those cards have a chance of seeing play.  This is just an early game pump that probably won't even go off...sorry, it's a binder card(for those that binder uncommons)

Constructed: 1.5/5

Limited: 1/1

Eew, a For The Promise card. All of the Promise cards are terrible and inferior to their Guard of the Prince counterparts, including the Promise client himself. While Prince decks can propel themselves to top tier, Promise decks wouldn't even make a very good casual deck. Naruto is the only Promise ninja that's decent but he still isn't very good, not to mention you'd have to use a worse Prince client to make the deck work.

Fun Fact: I got a box of AW and pulled 8 Gates (sweet), Moonlight (got 4), Sas/Oro (meh) and Explosion of the Rasengan (SWEET!)

Tomorrow: The most pointless platoon in the game.
