Beastly Mage

Compressed Chakra

Today's card is a new mission. This one requires you have a Tailed Beast Naruto out (that has a turn cost of 5 or more). Compressed Chakra can give a damage by discarding Chakra. You pick one Ninja, you discard (let's say) 2 Chakras, you give one damage to that Ninja. That's about it. It's not a card that you would see outside the Tailed Beast Naruto deck.

Limited: 1/5
Constructed: 2/5

N. Jolly
M-471 Compressed Chakra

Always prepared to save the world from the threat of the Solanite Bomb, it's Cpt. N. Jolly of the Stars!

Yesterday I reviewed Chakra Cannon under the assumption that it'd be ran in the 4 tails deck, as would this card. But unlike Chakra Cannon, that does not make this card acceptable. To play it, you have to have 4 tails on board, which is really a bad requirement for a mission to have. If you do, you can burn as much of your chakra as you want, doing one damage to one ninja for every two you discard. Now that sounds pretty nice, but you know what sounds better? Disaster of the Nine Tailed Fox, that it does! I'd rather just run a generic board wrecking card that doesn't kill my resources than something that needs a specific ninja on board and kills chakra for a better effect.

It just feels too situational to run, unlike Disaster, which can be played without anything else. And I know that it doesn't hurt you, but a pretty large amount of things in lightning don't mind being hurt, ya know, like 4 tails. I'd rather play him, hit Disaster, and then just start sniping. But it's not a bad card if you know how to use it, it's just not a good card in comparison to it's commonly ran competition

Constructed:2/5 Just not good enough...
Limited:1/5 Too hard to play
Art:I actually like this art, it's like he's howling up at the moon...kind of nice.../5
