Naruto vs Sasuke

Today's card is another of the Chibi Sannin Exclusives. Naruto vs Sasuke is a card that trully deserves its own deck. It comboes well with such Jutsus as Moonlight Rasengan, and this card can bring you a quick victory. I should know... I've faced this sort of deck! >.<

I'll review this card taking into consideration that this IS a Promo Card.

It's the most beautiful reviewer at Pojo, here to give you on the card that started off as a promo, then became an SR, and finally ended it's journey as a Chibi...it's been one hell of a ride, NVS...one hell of a ride...

Let's look at the basics of this card: Lightning, T4, one handcost...pretty standard, nothing too incredible so far. The card itself is a wall of text, reading pretty much that all your and your opponent's genins have to fight Chunin Exam-style, and no one can help them...mabye Chunin Exam would have been a better name for this card...besides the point. This card is what I believe to be the heart of Tempo (I say what I believe because some people think Tempo and NVS to be different decks, but it's my review, so I say it's a Tempo card :P) because when each team of genins battle, the winner of each battle wins two battle rewards and draws a card.. So on standard, you'll be winning anywhere from 2-6 BRs and drawing 1-3 cards...from one mission...you remember that you only need ten to win, right?

This card right here is a win condition, pure and simple. With ninjas like Sasuke-Breaking off the Connection, Naruto-Control of Power, Neji-Whatever one, he's huge for a genin, and Gaara-TN (not deck specific, but still a huge genin), as well as a bunch of pumps, playing NVS should either win you the game, or allow you to win it soon. I'm sitll shocked that this deck hasn't taken anything bigger than a Chunin, as it always seems to be in the top 8 of every even that I've seen. It's a great card/deck, and an awesome finishing blow.

Constructed:4.25/5 Even better genins are coming out all the time, making this even better.
Limited: 4/5 I was going to say I couldn't use it in Limited, but I remembered the Chosen...and my "First word I thought when I saw this" review is obviously OMGCHIBIFIGHT/5

The NvS tempo decks have been around a while now, and while not always the most popular deck ran, it's always lurking in the shadows ready to pounce on those unsuspecting players that let their guard down. On a bad day, this card makes for a huge swing in tempo (no pun intended) in any given match, dragging the game literally in it's owner favor after just 1 resolution. On a good day however, and trust me, there's a lot of them, this card simply reads "I win".

Limited: 1/5 (It's a promo, so no limited.)
Constructed: 4/5 (It's a win condition, plain and simple.)
Artwork: ..Naruto is about to laid out for missing that punch.

Good day all, thought we would leave Naruto vs. Sasuke? hahaha PSYCHEEE xD Let's see:

Naruto Vs. Sasuke PR-018

Today's mission is a classic in all tourneys, it's a mission whose deck built around it will always linger in the T8, it lets everyone re-organize their teams then during battle, only "Genin" ninjas can be sent out to do so. If there are none, both skip the battle phase, it also states that none of your ninjas being sent out to battle can receive damage due to the showdown so jutsus are still valid. Now for the sweet part, if a team wins a victory or outstanding victory that team's player wins 2 battle rewards and draws a card for each of those teams. This effect is so awesome and has been the inspiration for Tempo rush decks for a long time now, however much has changed since way back then it was released, it's lost a considerable amount of power due to all the elements running very good early turn ninjas and the limitation of Shadow Clone Jutsu to 1 also hurt this deck greatly, however, it still has the ability to top and there is an incredible T3 genin out there with killer stats named Naruto ;).

A great mission deserving of a review for sure.

Limited: 2.5/5 (Not so good here)
Constructed: 4.5/5 (A solid mission)

Matthew Low Tuesday 7/13 - Naruto vs Sasuke - Lightning - Mission

Chibi Art!!! <3

Anyone who knows me knows Naruto vs Sasuke is pretty much all I play and likely all I'll ever play, so this card gets an extreme bias review and rating. Nevertheless, it is really deserved. Any card that pretty much single-handed creates a playable archetype and wins games on its own automatically becomes one of the best cards in the game.

Ever since I got my advance copy of the Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village DVD (yes, I ordered it for the DVD first, sue me), I knew the card would do something, so I set out to make it work. Six BRs at one fell swoop? Sign me up. It became the quick recipe for tempo or aggro hybrid Lightning decks; get to 4 BRs, then drop Naruto vs Sasuke (or NvS for those that abbreviate) for hopefully game. Strong Genin for early advantage gave you two options, as you bashed with them for early BRs and used them to hold the fort down until you dropped this card on T4 or 5 or so.

Typical decks run a few pumps to finish off the game when this card is played, like Unexpected Attack, but some push towards 6 BRs so they only have to win two of the three battles. Some decks run this card is a side thought to throw players off. In 50 card format, I like to see Naruto vs Sasuke as a way to victory, but not necessarily the only way to victory, because drawing any single card that you run 3 of in a 50 card deck every game isn't going to happen.

As for the art, it's cute, even if Sasuke's not Genin anymore. Personally I'm all for diamond foil, but I'll reserve judgment to when I see the card in person. It's still awesome, either way. Extremely fun deck to play, but you'll need to be careful if you run into a perfectly teched sideboard, as the card and archetype is shutdown by a plethora of cards.

Constructed: 5.0 out of 5.0 (Any card that wins the game and make its own archetype... is made of win.)
Limited: 4.0 out of 5.0 (Even limited, I can see it being played. It won't be expected [can be pulled in Chosen], and requires Genin, but it can randomly work because there likely won't be many tricks your opponent will be able to play against it.)
