Beastly Mage

Kankuro

Welcome to another week of reviews, Naruto fans. Today's card is from the latest set: Kankuro [Tactician]. First off we notice it's a turn 3 Jonin. That's pretty good if you ask me. He's 3/3 - 2/2, which is decent for his turn. Now, the effect is the really good part. First off: when he's put in play via deployment you can look for one "Puppet" Ninja in your deck that's turn 3 or less and move it to your hand. Then comes the valid effect. During the exchange of Jutsu you can move one Puppet Ninja from your hand to Kankuro's team in any position. With the new Puppets out this Ninja's team can become quite strong. Just remember to keep him and his team protected. You wouldn't want the whole team to get Vortex'd, do you?

Ratings:

Limited: 2/5 (if you can draft at least one Puppet)
Constructed: 3.5/5

Kankuro
[Tactician]

This is one of my favorite cards in this set. Kankuro is a pretty impressive swarming machine. Not only is he a turn 3 jonin, but he’s got great stats. Aside from that, his effect is useful in almost any deck. Drop him down, search out Salamander, and drop it in your team during the EoJ. You have an essential 7 support ninja that only drops 1 when both are injured. The nice thing about this card and Salamander is that the tutor ability makes him splashable almost anywhere. Problem is, most people hold on to this card with fervor, so good luck getting a hold of one.

Limited: 4/5 (3 puppets in the set)
Constructed: 4/5 (7 support on turn 3? Yes please.)

Today we review one of the best cards in set 12.....Kankuro Tactician.

Kankuro has many, many upsides. His effect let's you grab any puppet from the deck, he let's you play them for free. Kankuro by himself is a 3/3, but he adds another 2/2, 3/3, or 1/4 to the team for free!

His effect is not only great, but he also is one of the only three ninjas to be jonin or higher and be lower than turn 4, making him an easy splash for fire and water as they have great jonin removal in 8 trigram and Vortex.

Another high point of Kankuro is the fact that he has never had a solid Kankuro, meaning unlike Naruto and Sakura and sasuke, Playing this late game ninja won't hinder your early game! Making him easliy splashable.

The only downpoint of this cards is you'll have to dedicate 2-3 slots in your deck for this. And drawing the puppet with no Kankuro is bad:(

Constructed: 4 out of 5. Very, Very solid card.

Limited: 5 out of 5. Tutors a solid ninja, plays the ninja, and then adds the ninja to his team each turn for free.......sign me up

Art: 1 out of 5. Men don't wear makeup.......

Shalom and welcome to another week of cards, all of which are wind related. Have you ever walked through a desert, if not you will experience that this week.

Kankuro (Tactician) is a super rare whose abilities are very effective for a puppet deck. This Kankuro is its own solution, for the only problem with puppet decks was that without the puppets you will get SLAUGHTERED, common sense ehh. Only having manipulation ninja's like Kankuro on the field is no longer a problem since this Kankuro is guaranteed to snag you puppet if one exist in your deck. Being turn 3 does hamper the playability of this card, for the Crow's (the one's most played with the poison counter strategy) is a turn 3, plus there is Black Ant and their platoon, all being aroud turn 2 and 3. As for this Kankuro's stats their mehhh, atleast when he loses power he still is stable with 2/2. Two areas this card shines is the fact that it's valid effect is great. The ability to add additonal puppets of level 3 or less lets you get Black Ant and Crow. The other less noted fact is that he's a turn 3 jonin. Tha'ts ballin in itself. Now sure there might be other turn 3 jonin's but I believe there isn't any one's that are wind. His other effect is great, allowing for you to atleast have one puppet if you have a bad hand.

Constructed: 5/5 ( for puppets )
Limited 5/5 ( for puppets )
Art: As good as the card is, is as bad as the art is...no props

Kankuro [Tactician]

Kankuro is one of the most valuable cards in the game right now, and for a good reason. He has EXCELLENT stats, 3/3-2/2 on T3, which makes him a big supporter. Furthermore, he even has JONIN on the third turn! As if that's not enough, he even searches a Puppet out of your deck. The trick with Kankuro is to search Salamander (1/4-1/4!!!) from your deck and drop him into Kankuro's team for free. Just insane.

5/5

Fun Fact: Kankuro is Jeff Dunham.
