N-625 Raiga Kurosuki-Seven Swordsman of the Mist
Sorry for missing yesterday all, my compy was
messing up and someone left a cryptic message on
it...something about the fall of man in 2012...but
I'm sure it's all just some crazy hoax. And if not,
see you at the end of the world!
Today's card is pretty cataclysmic to your
opponent's deck. We have an old favorite here in
Raiga, but as per normal, let's check out his stats:
Mist, Rogue Ninja, Jonin, Male, Kurosuki Family,
Ambush, 6/1 6/0 on T5. His combat is very
impressive, holding as well as Might Guy as well as
being in an element that having Jonin actually means
something. That as well as Ambush makes him a great
card for early or late game, meaning he's a great
draw at just about any point. Being Kurosuki
probably won't help, as the gang isn't really ran in
decks anymore, but if you want a tutor just for him,
he can be Karashi'd out of the deck and can still be
lowered by our old Ranmaru. All and all, a pretty
good ninja for the turn seeing as Water has pretty
good support ninja to allow Raiga to stand up front
with no real fear of being injured.
Now for his effect: Valid-When this ninja wins a
victory or outstanding victory, reveal the top five
cards of your opponent's deck and remove any ninjas
cards among them from the game. Then place the rest
back onto the deck and shuffle. Being able to slice
through your opponent's ninja on just a victory is
really powerful, especially being able to remove
them from the game. It cuts away everything that
allows you to manipulate your discard pile, which
has become more important with each set.
Raiga is a great ninja with great stats, but the
problem is that the new Kisame is just better, and
so is The Second, and Orochimaru, and Zabuza, so
Raiga probably won't see play. He's a good card, but
there's better options out there. I hope soon Raiga
will be able to shine in a deck of his own, but
right now he's just another option out there.

Raiga Kurosuki [Seven Swordsmen of the Mist]
Well this was a shot out in left field; I didn't
think we'd see a Raiga at all, let alone one this
good. First up is the stat boost from his measely
5/2~3/1, he's now sporting the very respectable
6/1~6/0. He also doesn't require Ranmaru to not be
bad, which is a huge plus in my book. On top of
that, he received the obviously coveted "Ambush"
characteristic. His effect, however, is absolutely
brutal compared to his former version. When this guy
scores a Victory, he can bury any and all Ninja on
among the top 5 cards of your opponent's deck into
the RFG Pile, never to be seen again. Had we not
seen a new Kisame in this set, this guy would've
have definately taken the crown as Water's optimal
Turn 5, but don't let that fact fool you. This guy
can put your opponent in a world of hurt if he
scores even one Victory, and with a Valid effect as
well as a consistent 6 Combat in both Healthy and
Injured, the only way to prevent that is remove him
completely or get out of his way.

Another day, another card and today's
card...shouldn't have happened...
Is there really something to say that hasn't been
said about this card? It just looks like
destruction, doesn't it? Why is Gaara PM a Super
Rare while this isn't? Seriously! 6/1 6/0, are you
kidding me? V/OV-->remove all ninjas in your top 5
cards from the game?! Are you nuts?
This card is just...unbelievable. Maito Gai stats
with a better effect AND with Ambush...I ask you,
why did this guy get a remake exactly? He's so
different from his SR counterpart in Lineage of
Legends! His stats are awesome, his effect is just
lethal, and the Ambush just makes him so annoying
because he's so good. Get that removal ready folks,
cause this guy is gonna be one you don't wanna see
your opponent play before you, for you are dead if
he keeps getting V/OV's.
