M-527 Master of the Weapons

Hello again there, folks.  Another day closer to the release of Broken Promises.  I'm quite excited about the new cards, but today isn't one of them...

Today's card is Master of the Weapons, a new card that has a lot of other cards reliant on it.  Generally I kind of like that theming, kind of like with the Uchiha's and their police sleep away card, Symbol.  But with cards like this, you also run the risk of not hitting it as well as not drawing into anything that's supported by it.  But let's check out the card for it's own effect, shall we:

Master of the Weapons:

Earth/Wind

Permanent
Effect: During your Mission Phase, if your opponent has 2 or more Ninjas in play than you do, you can deploy 1 Ninja with a "Weapon" Combat Attribute. That Ninja card is not counted towards the 1 Ninja per turn. This effect cannot be duplicated.

Set 15: Rare

Honestly, I don't care for this effect.  Popping a ninja into play is nice, but having to have a mission to do it is kind of bad.  It generally drains your hand, doesn't build you that much chakra in the case of a permanent mission like this and to a lesser extent, yesterday's card.  While as I stated, there's a bunch of cards that rely on this one, I just don't see it as worthwhile in the deck on it's own merit.  I really feel like Sharpening the Blade would have been a better fit for the jutus to be based off of, but overall this card really doesn't help out the theme of weapons.  Also, it's Earth/Wind, which seems like the way weapon has been going, rather than Earth/Water, the way we thought it would be.  I can't really say I like this card, but the jutsu based off of it with their added effect make this card at least somewhat playable.

Limited: 1/5 If it's not pulled with both jutsu and users, it's not worth playing.

Constructed: 1.5/5 Again, not strong here.  Weapon has better missions than this.

Block: 1/5 Less to use here makes it slightly worse.

Art: A shot of Tenten from behind will never get a low rating from me/5

2/4/10 Master of the Weapons
============================

Hola pojo'ers! Today's card is a staple in most Weapon decks. At first, it's hard to see why this should be a staple. It has a decent that let's you get in extra ninjas which is good against rush decks but that's not staple worthy. The thing that makes this card widely played in Weapons is that it boosts up a lot of Foretold Prophecy's Weapon jutsus. Sickle Chain, Tongfa, and Weapon Control! Tensasai each gain a bonus effect while this out in play, all of which are good. The only problem with this card is that it is Earth/Wind when all of the jutsus it buffs are Earth/Water making this card unplayable in Water weapon decks and unsearchable via Kabuto [Database]. Alone this card is bad, but with the jutsus it shines.

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 3.75/5
Block: 3.75/5 Block doesn't apply here
