Beastly Mage

Yoshino Nara

Today's card is Shika's mom. Not much can be said about this card at first glance. She's got decent support at turn 1, being a Chunin and all. But, when you read her effect, that's when you start liking her. She gets +3 Mental Power when she's in the same team as ANY Ninja with "Nara" in its name. If that happens, AND the team is involved in battle (be it attack or defense) you get a Mental Power Battle! Now, if you're familiar with this set, you know what card she comboes well with. *wink wink* In limited, she's a good back Ninja. In constructed, however, she can be a real killer if played well. Try it and see!

Ratings:

Limited: 2/5
Constructed: 3.5/5
Block: 3.5/5
Art: I wonder what's her connection to Shikaku's scars.../5

N-724 Yoshino Nara [AS A MOTHER]

Man, I do not feel good...have not for a few days, and hoping I will tomorrow. I felt bad about missing the past few days (including not getting an update on the Youtube channel, which will be done this weds-thurs about the new rules), but this is going to be short.

Yoshino Nara is a card that I both really like and really dislike. On the one hand, it's a great boon to mental decks as it's one of their ninja mental starters. On the other, without a man on board to make her smart (insert boos here), she's as dumb as Naruto. When she's injured, it doesn't matter how many men she has, she's as dumb as Naruto. If her effect is negated by Hiding, Yamato, or other things, she's as dumb as Naruto. Three mental is something we can achieve before this turn with Sakura, and being able to start mental is nice, but for once, I'd like a member of Shika's family who doesn't have to be with their special son to be smart.

Limited: 1/5 Is there even a Shika here?
Constructed: 3/5 It's good, I just don't care for it's fragility
Block: 3/5 See above
Art: I hate to admit it, but Shika's mom does indeed have it going on. I still will always prefer Anko though.../5
