Rounding off wind this week is Shino. Another new card from Will of Fire bringing mission and client hate to the table.

Shino is a bit more useful than yesterday’s card, because he is a ninja with mission and client hate built right in. The nice thing about Shino here is that he works on EITHER mission phase. Problems with him though…yeah I found a few. First off, we have IW Shino. An absolute staple until after Gencon when it gets cycled out. This shino won’t see main deck play until after that, and even then we won’t be able to use Shino/Kiba so it might not even see that. The 2/1 stats are normal for Shino, but if he’s not bringing in a bug then most people will play the 3+ combat turn 0 drops (Or the ridiculous 4 and 5 combat drops water has now.) Sadder still is that he isn’t valid, and you can’t pitch him from the hand to get his effect. You have to deploy or put him in play to use his ability. He is also unable to hit mission cards being played, and can only hit cards that are currently in play.

Sideboard material at best, Shino can pick off that Michiru, Efficient Training, Intellectual Strategy, Miroku, or Secret Meeting that has been bothering you. Like yesterday, this card may be more useful in the future, but as it stands, I don’t see him being played for a while.

Limited: 3/5 0 Drops are always good.
Block: 2.5/5 Sideboard material only.
Unlimited: 1/5 No one in their right mind would use this in unlimited.
