5 is the highest rating.

Beastly Mage

Jirobo (State 1)

Today's card is a new version of Jirobo, one of the Sound Four. Notice something about this card?

That's right. He doesn't have an effect!

Note that his name says "State 1", so I'm guessing he could be Sacrificed for the State 2 version (if it does come). Not having an effect doesn't really affect him, since being a Turn 0 with 4/0 - 1/0 makes him a pretty good choice.

Ratings:

Limited: 3/5
Constructed: 3/5
Block: 3/5
Art: He doesn't look like a State 1.../5

N-1262 Jirobo (State 1)
==================

Today's first exclusive preview is the awaited Jirobo (State 1) who rocks the new "no effect" template for water. Since he has no effect, there's not much too say. At a glance, Tracking Ninja is all around better, but Jirobo (State 1) has  a few advantages over it. The first is that he can trigger the Expert effect of his jutsu, Earth Dome Prison and he can be sacrificed for Jirobo (State 2).

I'm a little disappointed that Jirobo (State 1) has no effect, but his stats make up for it, even though Water doesn't really need another 4/0 T0 ninja. I just wished he had Ambush; something he and yesterday's Sakon are lacking.

Limited: 4/5 Beast stats
Unlimited: 3/5
Block: 3.5/5

Jirobo (State 1)
[Vanilla]

Hey, more vanilla ninja! I actually like this theme quite a bit. They are usually pretty beefy beatsticks, and Jirobo is no exception. He's going to be our new 4/0 in water (since Tracking Ninja is rotating out) and he's just all around good board presence. Like Sakon, he doesn't get ambush but he's still a great turn 0. What's even more fun about him is the jutsu we are also previewing for today. He allows you to get it's spiffy expert effect. Unfortunately, there isn't too much else we can say about him, being vanilla and all.

Unlimited: 1/5 (Use tracking ninja instead)
