Three different types of official Nintendo Pokemon TCG gift sets hit the store shelves this week at my local Target:

1) A repackaged card box with either Rayquaza or Deoxys design, similar contents to the ones seen earlier this year (I believe 3 EX card packs and 2 POP 2-card packs). (I think this was $9.99)

2) A small NEW gift set with 3 assorted EX card packs and one foil card (packaging does not indicate what the foil card is; there is a Celebi on the package for illustrative purposes, but, that does not guarantee contents). ($8.99 Target price)

3) A larger NEW gift set with 4 assorted EX card packs, one of which is the new EX Delta Species; 1 foil card (all the boxes I saw had a Suicune); 1 deck box (3 different sets available--each set has one of

3 legendary birds on the box; the box appears to be plastic); and 1 divider card (that appears to coordinate with the deck box design). ($12.99 Target price)

All of the gift sets had the official Nintendo seals on the outside packaging. I assume others like myself, who stalk store shelves to find the toys they love to collect, notice that department stores tend to get the new merchandise in December. If you have parents that buy presents in July (great for bargains, not so great if you want the latest...), this might be something to add to your "buy with that gift card they gave me" list. I can't wait to see what else December has in store!
