POKÉMON ANNOUNCES REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Players to Compete in Free Event for Regional Champion Title and a Chance to Compete at Nationals

BELLEVUE, Wash.—March 26, 2007—Pokémon USA, Inc., a worldwide leader in trading card games, today announced the Pokémon® Trading Card Game (TCG) Regional Championships. Regional Championships provide TCG players the opportunity to earn a Travel Award to play in the U.S. Pokémon TCG National Championships™ in Columbus, Ohio, on July 7th and 8th. Pokémon TCG tournaments and leagues test a player’s Pokémon TCG skills, strategy, and creativity, and the Pokémon TCG National Championships is open to all participants.

Pokémon TCG Regional Championships are held in 13 regions across the U.S. and are open to all eligible players. Competitors are divided into three divisions: Junior Division (born in 1996 or later), Senior Division (born in 1992, 1993, 1994, or 1995), and Masters Division (born in 1991 or earlier). First-place winners in each division receive a Regional Championships trophy, a Travel Award to the 2007 Pokémon TCG National Championships, and a scholarship of $1500, along with a cool Pokémon prize kit. Second-place winners receive a scholarship award of $1000, a Regional Championships trophy, and 36 Pokémon booster packs, while third- and fourth-place winners receive a scholarship award of $750, a Regional Championships trophy, and 36 Pokémon booster packs. Prizes are awarded to the top sixteen players in each division, and all prizes include Pokémon TCG expansion booster packs.
