Loretta's Pokemon Toy Blog
August 1, 2007

Hey, Pojo,

Hot Topic has added Squirtle and Charmander to their cavalcade of Pokemon ladies' tops:

Target has a temporary price reduction on some Jakks Pokemon items through August 6. I expect new merchandise will start hitting the shelves thereafter and probably not any sooner. Target had carded gift sets of collectible clear plastic Pokemon cards; these aren't gaming cards, just cards with printed pictures of Pokemon, and are located hanging in the TCG aisle.

E-Bay has lots of scans of new Pokemon backpacks and lunch kits; alas, despite my rabid shopping trips, I haven't spotted these items in stores locally, so, I can't give you any shopping tips just yet. One lunch kit was in the shape of a Poke Ball and another backpack I saw pictured Dialga and Palkia; hit E-Bay and search "pokemon" and "backpack," etc. to get an idea about what's lurking in the back-to-school aisles (and if you spot 'em in store, I'd like a clue, please!)...

Toys R Us got in soft Pokeballs, sized to hold in the palm of your hand and similar to Nerf type balls in feel. They come in several varieties, just like the virtual balls you use in the D&P DS games.

Shopping tip: If you've had trouble finding the Jakks marble sets, K*B/Kaybee Toys had then in-store locally; I haven't spotted them anywhere else, personally.

Toywiz.com updated their site with pictures of the new mini-plush. This is new, as I didn't see this yesterday! :O

There are also pictures of the large plush, some with sound! Here are some new toys, too--remote control Pokemon? :D

Oh, hey, great! Here are some pix of those soft Pokeballs! All new since I checked the site yesterday:

And this is what I've been curious about, the deluxe figures, as there are Dialga and Palkia in this wave:

Between clutching my heart at seeing all these new scans and my super-hyper anticipation about Target resetting their shelves, I could sure use a berry to regain some health! ;)

Mimi! Pika!

Loretta
