Ready, Reset, Go Target!

Hi, Pojo,

Thanks to a tip on that wonderful Livejournal Pokémon Collectors community, I headed to my local Target after work Friday and discovered Target had reset their shelves with a small space for Jakks toys!  I hit three different Targets en route home and discovered a Target exclusive 6 figure Gold/Silver “Sky” diorama pack that included Hoothoot and Togetic, $14.99!  I’m saving my pennies for the DS games coming March 14, so, sorry, no picture.  Target had space for their diorama pack, 3 figure packs, pop balls and… MINI PLUSH!  One Target had yet to receive a new shipment; another had refills on the Arceus wave that was out during the holidays; but the most exciting thing was the first Target I hit closest to my workplace had the new MYSTERY DUNGEON PLUSH!  As noted on various online toy store sites, this wave includes Riolu, Shinx, Piplup, Chimchar, Pikachu and Shaymin Sky Forme, $5.99 ea.  As you can see from the picture, the plush are dolled up just like in the DS games—of note, Jakks didn’t just add accessories to the old mini plush, the plush actually is updated in design.  Chimchar in particular looks a lot better than the prior wave that included it.  I’m glad to see Jakks tweaking their designs; their first mini Croagunk didn’t do a thing for me (and probably most other shoppers, as it remained behind in depleted crates on the shelf).  Kudos to Target for bringing back shelf space for Jakks Pokémon where it got edged off by Bakugan at the end of last year.  To my relief, the Pokémon was reset in an aisle away from Bakugan; hence, I didn’t have to fight a crowd to check it out… ;)  Neither Omahanime nor I have found HGSS poster packs or the 3 pack blister with Pikachu foil in-store just yet (unless he has found it this weekend-?) but he said he ordered his stuff online.

I had not yet found anything new of note at TRU as of Thursday—but since Omahanime and I are such HUGE fans of all things bunny, I will add for those of you that Zhu, Hallmark has a BUNNY exclusive Zhu Zhu that is selling out quick.  This makes me consider how funny it would be to see a Pikachu done up like that, with Pikachu sound effects…  Hrrm.

Happy shopping!  Pika Pi!
